I have just spent hours looking around for a type c male to male with a 90 degree head. The standard cable that came with the samsung t5 ssd cable hanging out the side has been bothering me. I bought this ugreen cable from china maybe it will turn up before xmas. Its 50 cm long maybe a little long but should be better than most that are 1 meter or longer. I run my ssd under the camera on a plastic homemade holder, I figure i should be able to vary the excess cable by moving the ssd either forward or backwards, plus i like that the ssd is out of the way under the camera. Curious as to how others with ssd's and cabling have solved their issues ?

i know i said pics were coming and they are.. In the interests of upping my gamesmanship, i have gone with moving pics. I utilized the pk4, the viltrox speedbooster and a pentax m42 50mm f1.4 not to mention some fabric, a board and a lazy susan. Learned quite a bit today, i must really press hard down on the p4k shutter as i had to cut the last couple of seconds of each of the clips due to movement. I also really messed up on two of the clips in the middle with the colour. You'll also see the scratch i made in a couple of the clips. learned a few more things about resolve as well. Been raining most of the day, which is very welcome, so was squashed between my mums car and my motorbike. I thought with my mums car being white and about two feet away it would have reflected more light, that wasn't the case. with pulling the lens off the front i dont think i have the anamorphic aligned properly, since i still have to do the back element, i will pull it apart again as its all just finger tight at the moment. I'm thinking of investing in one of those white out pens nothing else seems to show up on the blackened outside of the anamorphic. i do have everything i need to motorize the lazy susan except a driver board for a stepper, perhaps next time i do it again it will be all sorted out i hope. bolex.mov

i prefer to buy from japan, if its made in japan, it should be easy to buy from japan. At least you know the lens most probably hasn't been around the world twice ? i tend to look at all the photos. I'm wary of those sellers that only have two or three photos of the item because its easier to hide things, the more photos the merrier. I also like the sites that rate their items and list the conditions of the exterior and interior especially the lens if it has fungus or haze or scratches. If their brave enough to list the condition then they usually will except returns. The guys that says it has some haze but doesn't affect photos surprisingly doesn't accept returns odd that ?. the same goes for as is condition when i see that listed its time to move onto the next item. I think a lot of people flogging stuff on ebay know whats its worth listing with only a couple of photos and a short nondescript description leaves a lot of room for a sale that isn't what you think it is. You can always email the seller for confirmation about condition or query something which you can then use in an ebay dispute to prove your side of the case. But i prefer to avoid that in the first place One thing that ticks me off is the ( new prefix ) the fd lens system is not new, these lenses are old, if they were new you'd list them as new old stock. I only see this on canon fd lenses from japan, its quite bizarre. I tend to wonder about the character of people who tell me something is new when its sold as used ?

no slur intended... just thought btm_pix would have had his hands full with other more important issues ?

The bolex anamorphic projector lens turned up a couple of days ago. Haven't had a chance to do much till this evening. there was some haze on the inside of the front and back lens elements, i knew this before i bought it. I took a gamble that i could get it cleaned up and it wasn't fungus or between the cemented elements. I have managed to disassemble the front part and clean the front lens. Its cleaned up really nicely. Someone else has pulled it apart before as the front lens ring which has the cutouts for the lens wrench was put on backwards however it was only done up finger tight. M hand did slip undoing the last bolt on the brass part of the helicoid and i have scratched a 1cm long mark on the housing, bummed about that !! The bolex is quite a bit smaller than the elmoscope. I'll have some photos to share tomorrow.

we are at -26 down votes for @Kimwatson it seems the algorithm for banning 10 plus down votes is not working yet ?

i'm surprised you can find time for such frivolous activities btm_pix ?

i should first commend you thats an awesome effort to lose that amount of weight. I carry more kilo's than i care to think about... in theory losing weight should make everything else easier, getting older does suck and it does complicate things. A visit to a gp will quickly rule out several possibilities and narrow the problem down. buying a pair of shoes may help alleviate the pain for now but may not lead to a long term solution. i know this because when i turned 50 i had to get glasses for general day to day stuff. turned 51 i had to get reading glasses, now i'm 52 its time i upgraded the general day to day glasses? having lived long enough to get to a mature age, wisdom for me, dictates that i start looking after things so that i can live a life and not end up some decrepit grumpy old man. Edit : i should add that i wear steal cap boots for everything regardless of what i am doing . I am however glad to get home and put my feet up ?

i'd see a doctor or podiatrist, there may be some underlying issue that specialist care will diagnose which would probably end up being a cheaper and more comfortable option in the long run ( no pun intended )

Honestly i have only seen the prices of anamorphics go up over the last 8 months of so, not sure if thats the conversion rate of the aussie dollar or prices generally. Type 1 elmoscopes seem to be a third of the price of type 2. I paid $300 aus for the type 1. Type 2 have been $1200 or so and i haven't seen any cheaper i probably would have bought 1 even if i had to rob a bank to pay for it ?

now you just need another arbitrary amount of photos , say ... 1439 and you can make a short movie. Feel free to move the camera/tripod in small amounts as you go.?
-
More landscape based i think. i have seen a bit of australia. I'd like to revisit those places and capture some of it with the pk4 and anamorphics, to do it some justice. its a big country it needs to be done anamorphically ? maybe some shorts that interest me.
-
you don't ? i always thought there was something wrong with with you?
-
your not far wrong... chickens and sheep and the occasional flower for the practice. flowers are kinda rare at the moment with the drought. just farm life at the moment. as actors the animals are a bit skittish, probably confusing it with something else ?, However i cant complain about the pay rate, all it costs is a bag of feed ? been thinking of offering to document some of the activities at the local mens shed as a way to break some ground and gain some experience.

Put in a session with the p4k and the lomo 40mm and elmoscope this afternoon. the lomo fits inside the clamp housing and slides in nearly 10mm, no vignetting with it at either up against the elmo or sitting at the back of the clamp. the only issue is that the lomo has the aperture adjustment on the front close to the lens which is a pain in the ass. So its not a long term solution but at least i learned 40mm doesn't vignette on the p4k with the elmoscope. 35mm does vignette with the elmo but since i usually crop the sides it would probably be ok. Thats a test i want to do soon. One layer of masking tape allows for a nice snug fit with a cheap 77 step up filter and nd on the front of the elmo. Had some issues with my cheap card dropping frames so the samsung t5 ssd holder is back on duty slung underneath. Has anyone found a usb 3 cable with a 90 degree end ?
-
is that the one with the focusing on the front with an allen key or something ? i cant do a different car everyday but i happen to think an anamorphic a day is doable ?
-
Sounds positively heretical selling anamorphic lenses. i like a blue flare, i have also seen an iscorama that flared orange/red. I'd be temped sell a kidney or redraw on the mortgage to get that one ? i have heard that eiki's give a purple flare i think. So far my acquisitions have been at the lower tier of the price spectrum ? Amber /margenta sounds interesting may have to google Schneider Cinelux. I do have a bolex anamorphic on the way i have heard their a rebranded sankor, it has fungus issues, so theres a good chance that is going to be operated on ghetto style.
-
their still pre production are they? hopefully they tone them down a little we are alot like Goldilocks aren't we, not too many flares, not too little flaring ?
-
i did consider googling the names, but i thought that was too much like cheating ? While we are on the anamor_faking _it trail, i did make a frame to hold a piece of fishing line in front of the letus gopro. I was hoping to either change the flare colour with different colour line or add another flare. First impressions are pretty ordinary, i dont think my line is thin enough or maybe because the gopro is pretty much everything is in focus, i can still see the line. I think i'll try to find some thinner line, maybe even some horse hair that way i can say definitively i tried everything.
