Yeah, I like using longer lenses with my gimbal.
-
This is a big reason I would buy if it had PDAF. Skintones and colors should look amazing. Black magic is known for having good color science.
-
The main thing that made me leave the GH5 was auto focus. A GH5S with IBIS would be my real cup of tea though. The 6400 on the GH5 is very questionable.
-
I don't think M43 is dead as long as the specs stay competitive. If it has higher frame rates, better color depth then competitors then people will still get it. If not then yes it will die. The GH5 is still competitive IMHO due to the IBIS and of course the IQ is still awesome. I've thought about purchasing it again after selling it because the IBIS really is amazing and the user base is pretty cool too. The Alexa Lut and Leeming Lut make it a different camera in some ways.

Yeah IBIS is nice for vintage lenses. As for auto focus the XT3's is amazing. Just super fast and accurate even in really dim light.

Trying to back up all the gear that wouldn't kind of ruin my shoot if I didn't have it. 2 Cameras, 2 gimbals, some extra lens options( not going to have two of every lens). I have many different battery chargers. I don't edit on the go so I don't need any of that stuff.

I know I will too? I was already pretty happy with my XT20, so this is just icing on the cake. Its nice to be able to shoot in log again. Thanks! The vlog was shot on an XT20. It is really a nice camera for the price. Its really useful for vlogging, and sometimes if you are switching from a dark interior to bright exterior. I'd wouldn't want to use it in a film though.

I just bought the XT3. The reason I went with it over black magic is due to auto focus and 120fps. Yes the Black magic has 120fps but its very cropped. 2.8 vs 1.9 on the Fuji. I personally don't think M43 is dead as long as they can put out cameras with good specs. If Panasonic releases something that is putting out higher frame rates, better stabilization, better IQ, it'll have people buying it. I really like the XT3, but I do miss the GH5 IBIS, the XH1 IBIS can't hold a candle to it. Maybe the XH2 will be better.

I use auto ISO at the end of this video. 2:37

The dynamic range is so nice. Happy with my XT3 right now though.
-
oh that makes sense, still less cropped then my GH5 in standard frame rates.
-
I looked it up, its a 1.29x crop, so with the 1.5 crop its 1.79 Still better the an M43 camera shooting 24fps. Maybe you are thinking of the BMP4K which is a 2.7 crop or something like that.
-
What is it a 2x crop?
-
Well when you factor in accessories and battery it'll be bigger. He might want a hybrid camera I don't know.
-
Yeah it was in the OP, he said later that the Z cam was too large, so that crosses off any cinema type cameras.
-
Yeah the FS700 definitely has the best 120p. Its actually pretty affordable too. Not what the OP wants though, its much bigger then a DSLR or SLR.
-
Definitely the Z cam E2 I think the XT3 has an edge with 120fps as its 10 bit recording. Getting mine today so I'll be able to compare it to regular 1080p.
-
Well the A6300 had this problem even though it was APSC. Glad to hear you aren't finding this issue with Fuji. I am using it on a wedding on Saturday so I am really hoping its super reliable.
-
Thats good to hear, I am actually getting the XT3 in today. I'm glad you haven't experienced any lock ups yet. I keep hearing about people who do. I never had any issues on my GH5 but I only ever shot in single shot mode for stills. I've heard some reports about hot fuji bodies in weather that is not even that hot. So if you are shooting outside on a 95-100 degree day for a long time it might start looking ugly. Yeah you can't record continuously for more then 30 minutes but you can always stop and restart immediately. Of course this is just me speculating, hopefully that isn't the case. I do agree with you on stills. Not only does the XT3 just take beautiful shots, the dynamic range is also really really good, and very noticeably better then a GH5(Haven't used the S).
-
The GH5 is definitely the more durable build. The fuji has the 30 minute record limit. I have also heard reports of the camera getting really hot shooting in 4k for long periods of time. Also lock ups but I think that more of a photography thing. If you don't need reliable auto focus the GH5 body is hard to pass up.

Sony a7SIII - Full Frame 4K 60fps 10bit with Flip Out Screen
thebrothersthre3 replied to Dave Maze's topic in Cameras
Dang DUAL IS full frame is going to be a crazy good feature. Sony's IBIS isn't that great as it stands. If Panasonic pulls of 10 bit internal and phase detect auto focus it will be a real winner. I bet they are going to pull contrast detect auto focus on us again tho. -

Last I heard no IBIS in the Pana full frame. -
At 24p, not a big difference. APSC vs M43 though, that's a difference. Yes you can use a speedbooster on the GH5, but you can use one on the Fuji and get full frame. 60p and 120p are a lot better, 10 bit, higher data rate. The APSC fuji sensor has more detail then the GH5 and GH5S though if you crop in a lot.
