  1. Some of that footage was definitely out of focus. Though not all of it was (pretty sure), and it was consistently more detailed. He shouldn't have used a speedbooster though.
  2. My main interest is a comparison of 120fps. Would be interesting to see if the colors are different as well.
  3. I have the Tokina 17mm as well, older copy nikon mount.
  4. Yeah its definitely a camera I want to get. Nice form factor and great image. I have the OG pocket, nice body but the screen sucks, the hdmi and DC outputs suck, and the battery sucks.
  5. When comparing against Canon this is a good point. For those heavily invested in EF glass its definitely not a bad buy at all, especially if you desire 6k. At this point the Pocket 4k is still high on my radar, getting the Pocket 6k isn't whatsoever. The 4k is a sweet spot in terms of resolution for me. Something with IBIS and great AF would definitely catch my interest though, or at least one of those. That perfect camera is getting close to being real.
  6. Looks like low light is a bit better, though with a speedbooster you gain a stop, which probably evens it out. Would be interested to see HD 120 vs 2.8k 120
  7. Really tough to decide. Should I go for abstract emotional value or pure cinematography.
  8. More motion blur? What if you put the shutter speed a bit lower on the pocket to compensate?
  9. I also agree. Its not offering a lot of advantages above the Pocket 4k. The image and motion cadence could be nicer though. Better battery life and titling screen could have sold it more. Or better dynamic range and a mount that could easily take speedboosters. Overall though its still an exciting release IMHO, the 2.8k 120fps is pretty sweet. The Pocket 4k v2 is what I'd be more excited about.
  10. Most lenses get soft when wide open, may be what you are seeing
  11. What speedboosters have you experienced this with? I've never noticed this on my lens turbo or metabones.
  12. I wouldn't say overrated as I don't think anyone is over hyped about 6k.
  13. This would be awesome. Very tempting camera.
  14. Yeah honestly the camera matters so little with a production. A crew is what makes everything happen. That said RAW is definitely nice for whoever is editing it lol
  15. The EVA1 is nice but at this point I might prefer the Panasonic S1 or soon to come S1H. The lack of internal RAW in the EVA1 is kind of a big bummer
  16. 6k will hold more detail and give more framing options. You'd think the bigger sensor would yield more dynamic range but I guess that's not the case. 4k 120fps and 1 stop more of dynamic range would have made this camera a lot more compelling. Still close to 3k at 120fps is a decent step up. Bigger sensor is always a plus, if it can be speedboosted you'll get a full frame FOV. I don't think it will kill URSA sales that much. For someone who likes working with cinema bodies I don't see why you'd step down to a DSLR looking thing. But I think its a great, more options is always better. Glad they aren't incredibly afraid of keeping their "cinema line" safe, as other companies seem to do, other than maybe Panasonic.
  17. Most accurate he meant to say. I believe the tests are done at Provia/standard. The colors aren't as accurate in Eterna or any of the other color profiles.
  18. If it shares the same readout as the XT3 the rolling shutter is rarely noticeable I have found. I almost always use ES
  19. I am confused why the dynamic range is sort of lowish. I assumed it was using a similar sensor to the XT3, XT2, A6300, which yield amazing dynamic range in stills.
  20. Was kind of shocked to see this. Makes sense though. Won't kill Pocket 4k sales. When you look at it its not that crazy but at the same time it is. Its higher resolution than their most expensive camera the URSA G2 though lacking in 4k 120fps. However you get 6k and 6k 60fps which the URSA doesn't have. Same sensor size and better low light performance.
  21. Yeah you could always switch to 200 for a scene with more movement and go down to 100 for more static shots.
