Nikon Z6 features 4K N-LOG, 10bit HDMI output and 120fps 1080p

Its kind of looking like the S1 only shoots at 24fps for RAW tho, which is pretty crippling in comparison to the pocket. -
I don't know. When a Full frame camera comes out that does what the Pocket 4k does there won't be much a place for APSC and M43 anymore. One of the reasons I haven't got a full frame camera is none of them are where they need to be yet. The Panasonic S1 comes close but auto focus isn't there. Lenses are also way too expensive to make it worth it to switch.

Seems pretty cool. HDR could be nice if done right. Pocket 4k still seems pretty unbeatable having 60 and 120fps RAW.
-
I kind of agree. H265 is hard on most PC's and I don't think it yields any better results unless you are using very low bitrates.
-
The game is rapidly changing. I am kind of hesitant to buy anything right now.
-
Yeah you could kind of just use that setup alone for an entire shoot. Maybe not so much weddings but for narrative stuff. Obviously its not replacing a gimble but you could use it to get a steady handheld look. Its a shame Fuji doesn't put that OIS in their F2 primes.
-
The image is softer for sure. Just depends how much you'll notice or care. I opted to buy Nikon lenses as I knew I could get a Lens Turbo speedbooster for them for cheap, which are pretty comparable to metabones. But yeah if you don't have a fluid head tripod that would definitely be a place to start. I'd highly recommend a used 18-55mm Fuji lens. The OIS is amazing.

The non tilt screen is never an issue?
-
It will give you that extra stop of light as well as give you a full frame look. If that's what you like go for it. Unless you get a metabones tho the cheaper speedboosters do reduce sharpness. I do have a metabones I'd let go for pretty cheap.

I just look for the cheapest adapter usually, never had an issue. I use a USB-C with a power bank to avoid battery changing. For cards anything V30 works. The SandDisk extreme pro 95mbps or 170mbps work well.

How do you feel about Log skintones? In terms of pure specs and ergonomics its def a great buy.
-
Yeah for me its just the sacrifice of a small body, which is part of the appeal of a Pocket cam.
-
Yeah the GH5S really can't match the image quality the Pocket offers. But if you wants something light and or don't want to do much processing in post, at still get a super clean image, the GH5S is superior. Battery life is really the big killer on the Pocket in regards to run and gun stuff. You really need some time of at least semi bulky external battery, unless you don't mind changing them every 30 minutes. Panny needs to add a reduced NR/sharpening mode as well as internal RAW!
-
Yeah there is, pretty simple to do. Its hard to beat as they are going for like $300 these days.
-
Would be on my radar if it does indeed have internal RAW. Though 60p would be essential, even if it was only in HD or something.
-
Those are some amazing shots. Have you thought about maybe an XT30 or GX85 for travel? More compact than anything full frame.
-
I think all the frame rates were greyed out except 23.95 with CDNG in UHD.
-
The speedbooster is really more of a money saver for me as generally wider fast lenses are more expensive. I could probably get away with doing 17mm, 50mm, and 100mm in regards to full frame. With more complicated lighting setups its sometimes nice to have a longer lens so you can get the shots you want without becoming a shadow on your subject. 17mm is also nice to get a wide shot in tight spaces.
-
Sigma lenses tend to be wonderfully perfect. I think color rendering also plays a role in how pleasing a lens is. I do miss my 18-35 but now being able to get a full frame look with my XT3, vintage Nikons were simply way more affordable.

Blackmagic Design Announces New URSA Mini Pro G2
thebrothersthre3 replied to Adam Kuźniar's topic in Cameras
Would rather have a G2 than the RED Dragon honestly. -
Probably a different story with RAW. Really nice tho
-
Its up there with the URSA mini, which has really good dynamic range. I am guessing the panasonic does better in shadows.
-
I actually like 35mm on S35 crop and 50mm on Full frame. 28mm on Full frame is nice, but I don't always love it for faces.
-
I doubt the S1 is actually getting 14 stops of dynamic range in video. But yeah more dynamic range would be nice. I personally think the GH5S sensor is amazing, but it was better utilized in the Pocket 4k. Something with Pocket 4k capabilities + IBIS and good auto focus would be game changing IMHO.
