240fps! Yes!!! Here's hoping the auto focus updates will bring closer to performance of the A6400.

Correct workflow is the one that works for you. -
I'll probably just pony up and and buy a metabones. Its probably more useful than this useless 4k monitor I just purchased for not much less ??

Were you zooming in 500%? You aren't a true artist unless you do. ?

I want a good set of manual focus glass. Currently have a set of Minoltas; 24mm 2.8, 35mm 1.8, 50mm 1.4, and 135mm 2.8 I really want to get a speedbooster to make full use of them but my go to focal reducers Lens Turbo doesn't make one. That leaves me with Metabones, which is $400, unsure if its worth it. I am debating selling it all and getting a Nikon 35mm 1.4, 105mm 2.5 or 85mm f2, plus a cheap lens turbo speedbooster. Than I'd have the option of using with or without the focal reducer to get different FOV. 50mm lenses are cheap but I don't really like the focal length. Its either too long or too short. This is definitely more of a passion move as for practical purposes super fast glass isn't very useful. Accurately focusing the 50mm 1.4 is difficult if not practically worthless for live events, unless the subject isn't moving. I was thinking about getting a 58mm 1.2, but imagine focusing that with a speedbooster lol. Buying glass is fun though. May just keep all my minolta glass and get the Nikon glass as well.

I am sure RAW is better but the prores looks dang good. Hard to believe the output you get for 1000 bucks.

The Black Magic Pocket original is really cheap these days, like sub $500 cheap. Seems like they are quite good up to 800 iso. Still kind of limiting when you are used to cameras that do up to 3200 iso while still looking clean. G85 definitely seems like a solid choice. Though if I was going Panasonic I'd go with the GH5 or a used GH5S(can sometimes be found for GH5 prices). If I was going Canon I'd probably go with an M50 with speedbooster or EOS R if I could get together $2000.

I think Panasonic would sell even better with a phase detect system, but Sony would also sell better with more flip screen cameras. The lack of attention paid to vloggers is odd to me. Apparently 1 in every 4 kids wants to be a youtuber now. Seems like a big market. I guess Canon pays attention to that market. Hopefully AI will go places fast. That way Canon can no longer lead the AF market with their exclusive auto focus system. Z cam is doing interesting things with AI as well.

4k is more detailed when downscaled to 1080, though its not very noticeable. The only real advantage of 4k unless of course you need to deliver in 4k is being able to crop without losing too much resolution and it holds up a bit better to post noise reduction. If you don't crop in post and aren't shooting in low light then 1080 would be fine for me. You can transcode to a lighter codec if your editing program is lagging. -
Doesn't the S1 have no time limit in 4k as long as its not 60fps.

I doubt the RP will have IBIS. Dual IBIS is kind of a big feature. Though like you said the lenses are crazy expensive. If Panasonic can manage to close the auto focus gap with AI tech, that would definitely be a stick in Canon's side. Low light performance and full frame 4k are also big advantages over Canon as well as 4k 60p. Will be interesting to see how things go this year. AI tech definitely seemed to be part of the new Sony A6400 auto focus though of course Sony auto focus was already really good. -
I don't know, I think AI could change everything.

I think its just a newer Sony sensor. Could be wrong of course. -
Canon EOS M50 - an accidental 4K Digital Bolex

Looks like the speedbooster isn't hindering auto focus much. Good option for a sub $1000 full frameish Canon camera. (Less if you use a cheaper speedbooster) No clog and looks like 6400 iso isn't very usable. Still interesting option (oh you also get a flippy screen haha). Honestly if I was doing vlogging I'd get this camera. EOS R is no doubt better though you pay for it. -
Yeah it seems like a possibility. I forgot about the SD card issue. Though Canon cameras can record RAW to SD cards. I guess it depends on the type of RAW.
-
Maybe not though it is possible internally or should be considering it uses less processing power than something like 10 bit internal. Seems like a good choice to one up the pocket 4k.
-
I'm predicted 4k 120 fps and RAW recording in a GH5s type sensor with IBIS and new AI focus system. To me that is the minimum. If they add some type of internal NDs to that you'd have a perfect run and gun camera, I'm not counting on it though. They'd need to improve on the battery system too.

Is it confirmed its actual 8k yet?

Canon EOS RP specs leaked, features 26MP sensor and 4K video

Opps I'm wrong -
I have the X-T3 so I'll get an X-T2 next. I just don't really need IBIS. The Xt2 also apparently has less moire in HD 60p and 120p. Might eventually get a 3rd XT2 or XT3 plus external recorder. My setup for weddings is two shooters plus a 3rd unmanned camera doing a wide shot which needs no record limits. Using a G7 atm, which works for now.

Yeah that is my end decision and thanks everyone for the advices.

If Canon was reusing their parts to produce cheaper cameras than competition I guess I wouldn't mind ?. Are tech is off the backs of the poor though undeniably. We'd not all feel as rich as we do if we were paying for american union labor. -

Looks like the bees knees tbh. Can it hold up in backlit situations and how good is it in low light.
