EOSHD Opinion - The Sony A6400 is an absolute turkey
thebrothersthre3 replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
I am not so sure about the 2K price thing. The A7III is nice, but its their base model. We've already heard rumors about the S3 costing $3000, as well as rumors of panasonics full frame cameras costing above 2k, even rumors of the A7000 costing 2k, which is higher then previous aps-c models. Hard to tell at this point. -
I don't understand why the readout wouldn't be faster if its got the A9 processor in it.

Canon EOS R - The Sum Is Larger Than Its Parts
thebrothersthre3 replied to DBounce's topic in Cameras
It sounds like the EOS R was like a base model, so I am sure they'll be putting out something else this year. I heard rumors about a 100mp IBIS camera, though that doesn't really sound video orientated. -

Yeah only the M50 is $500 and probably has more usable 1080p. Not sure about eye AF but tracking of those skate dudes looked great. -

haha, I have to say the auto focus does look wonderful tho. Oh well, I am still happy with my Fuji, its to the point where its good enough. -

IBIS would have made sense in this supposed vlogging camera. But yeah they are saving money while delivering a subpar product IMO. -

Seems like it would make more sense to do this with a new sensor and limited features then release a higher end A7100 or something. -

You returning the Nikon? So far still happy with my Fuji, can't see anything replacing it. I have thought about getting a Canon 5d 3 with ML tho -
The A7siii and a7000 could change things

EOSHD Opinion - The Sony A6400 is an absolute turkey

The M50 is the best priced vlogging camera atm. Who needs 4k for vlogging. If they fixed the slow rolling shutter it would be a more worthy camera. Still not a terrible choice if you get past the RS. Auto focus is insane looking. I assume the A7000 will be like $2000 -
I won't be getting the camera but the auto focus and flip screen are a big deal to a lot of people, the updated color profiles are a nice touch too. Overall I think it was a cheap move on Sony's part not to improve the rolling shutter though. $900 is a decent price.

Doesn't the XT3 have full sensor readout?
-
So it's the same sensor as the A6300 with that terrible rolling shutter? That would be disappointing. The A7000 should be impressive though. If they improve color and 1080p they will be the top camera for video and photos.

That makes sense. The GX85 is definitely softer than my GH5 was, especially at high ISO's. The GH5 was very nice at 3200 iso but the GX85 is quite soft. If you are shooting under 1000 iso it holds up well. It is softer but not something you'd notice a lot. Interestingly the G85 seems to be using more sharpening than the GH5 in 4k. I really love that tool, thanks for posting it, I thought dpreview got rid of it.

I still think the smaller sensor size will be an advantage for a long time in terms of frame rates, stabilization, and size. I agree looks change with time but I also think different looks suit different projects. Say with a show like Stranger Things, which was very popular with young people, a modern look simply wouldn't work.

Wait is the pocket 4k 14 bit? Thought it was 12
-
I'd like to see 14 bit prores/or some other compression. If M43 can offer that I'll be interested. GH5S with 14 bit prores, even in 1080 would be a winner for me. Probably not a selling point in general though unless its 4k.

5-10 more years is far from dead when it comes to tech imo. I mean half of the things that are put on the market these days lose much of their value within 2 years and may be completely irrelevant in 5.

Used camera pricing help needed (sony a6000)
thebrothersthre3 replied to Darryncosta's topic in Cameras
Yeah that is a good price. There are a lot of free intro guides online. I suggest just picking one and digging in for a few hours. Kind of boring but it will get you started. A lot of it you'll learn while using the camera and have to reference back. -
Yeah, I meant to say aren't. Which makes sense if they aren't targeting video people.
-
Pocket has the same crop though and no continuous auto focus.
-
Do you need both the GH5 and XT3? Would be a heck of a lot easier to just have one system. By the way the EOS R can do 10 bit 422 to an external recorder. Might be a good way to go, could be an all in one system for you with all the adapter mess.
-
Someone mentioned they need a full frame equivalent 24mm lens on the XT3, so I was just saying an option would be a lens turbo + a nikon 24mm 2.8, cheap option. If you have a ton of Canon glass you want to adapt that is a different situation. Ever thought about getting a Canon C100? Unless you need stills of course.
-
What do you mean? Metabones makes fuji focal reducers as does Lens Turbo and the other Chinese brands.
