True though its small enough for me at least and the quality is also probably good enough, at least in comparison to proxy. But yeah could be a factor if you want to save storage.

So basically the Panasonic rep told him the Panasonic S1 is centered around photographers and the GH line is for video. Sounds like complete BS as they are both hybrid cameras, but its interesting that they are putting out that message. They definitely marketed the GH5S as a video camera. Anyways the exciting thing is that I think the GH6 will really be an interesting camera. It looks like they are pursuing phase detect auto focus on the S1, which makes sense if they genuinely don't care about the video side. Hopefully its being developed for the GH6. The thing is at this point I am pretty happy with what the XT3 offers. One of the advantages of smaller sensors is better stabilization and less processing power. It would be neat to see a really well done multi exposure HDR. Right now the two things that would make me buy another camera are significant dynamic range increase and stabilization.

If you want a 24mm full frame equivalent for the XT3 I'd get a focal reducer + 24mm lens, which there are many options. Vintage 24mm 2.8 are common. Probably under $250 for both.

Prores lt files are fairly small too.

I thought it was a pretty decent high iso perfomer? Or do you mean dynamic range

Nikon Z6 with Edelkrone Motion Kit and HeadPlus

Pretty cool, I've been contemplating getting something similar for timelapses. -
Yeah that's a Terrible design.
-
sounds like a bummer, though I can see it working for limited uses.

Its not a hybrid camera of course but again its an inexpensive option for anyone doing video that wants or needs pro codecs. Canon C200 is cool, but very expensive compared to a Pocket 4k. Obviously if you have the money their are better options but for the price the Pocket 4k is still awesome. Agree to disagree ? I foresee Black Magic coming up with a Full Frame camera soon. I don't think their market was ever hybrid people.

"Where Canon is going with the R series?" - IR exclusive interview

No company is going to say its holding back features. -
Seems like it would have the same value if they just announced it.
-
I don't understand why they don't announce it, seems like it would only increase sales. Certainly exciting though.
-
Thought I'd leave this here I honestly wasn't expecting to see any difference, but the Canon skintones look noticeably more even and pretty.
-
Yeah but if you need 4k 60 all of that goes out the window. Why do you need an external recorder for the P4K? I also don't think you need a speed booster unless you need a certain DOF. You can get a monitor for under $200 that will power both the camera and the monitor at the same time. Still $1000 cheaper than the Z6. I do think the Z6 is amazing and certainly blows the Pocket 4k away in some aspects. But the Pocket 4k is a great little tool for the price that has some pro features that the Z6 lacks. Just saying. Internal RAW would certainly be awesome if that is a feature they add. If Panasonic introduces full frame 4k 60p that will be huge and if they do it I am sure Sony will too.
-
Yeah I mean 4k 60p, raw, and prores are definitely not things needed or really useful for taping the kids.
-
Yeah but the Nikon is really just another hybrid camera without the external recorder. Its also 12 bit raw 4k 60p
-
If it can do 6k that is pretty significant. Still no 4k 60p tho. The pocket does that at $1300

I've never noticed though I never really rely on internal audio. That is quite interesting to know. -
Best color profiles for the GH5
thebrothersthre3 replied to @yan_berthemy_photography's topic in Cameras
HLG will give you the best results for color grading. If you just want immediate nice colors Natural is the best profile in my opinion. -
Yeah almost any camera can do prores to an Atomos although only the GH5, XT3, EOS R, and Z6/Z7 can do 10 bit prores 422. Even if it was only RAW in 1080p I'd love to see it. 14 bit RAW out of the Fuji would be really impressive. You'd probably get close to 14 real stops of dynamic range.
-
You could always shoot prores lt or proxy.
-
Fuji already can get prores out of an Atomos. 12 bit raw internal would be cool to see though.
-
The lack of 4k 60p is the killer with the Z6.

HLG doesn't require the payed update. If you are shooting in 10bit you'll have HLG as an option.
