  1. Just got an email from my retailer saying that my Pocket4k has arrived and is ready to be picked up! I guess they made the September delivery! Will grab it tomorrow.
  2. I know the Fuji's are better stills cameras. I went from a GH4 to X-T1 then X-T2 as my personal stills / hybrid cameras. I was having a dig at the OP......."A GH5 is all you need....Can't wait for my Fuji" ?
  3. Why bother with the Fuji? Just use the GH5....or was this a dig specifically at the Pocket4K? ?
  4. I pre-ordered the Tilta Nucleus M wireless follow focus kit when it was announced from a smallish retailer here in Australia. I received it months before anyone on B&H....... Not sure why everyone is getting so hung up on B&H's availability dates.
  5. Of course Blackmagic are profitable but at the same time, compared to what the rest of the industry are doing, they are 'pretty much' giving away their products. Pocket4k with Resolve = US$1299 Adobe Premiere/After Effects/Audition subscription for 2 years = USD$1248 So after 2 years....yes, BMD have given you a free camera. ?
  6. It's entitled 'Lowlight' so wasn't shot to judge motion cadence. Saying that, there are plenty of shots in there that aren't slow and they look good to me.
  7. Yeah, while the CFA is techinacally over the photo sites of the sensor, i suppose if you are talking about the base level of the sensor itself then yeah......but usually the CFA is considered part of the sensor.
  8. BMD have already said the had BRAW in mind when developing the Pocket4k so everything should already be in place for it's implementation with that camera. Just give them time......
  9. Highly unlikely that this sensor was designed by Samsung for the NX2. X-Trans has always been a Fuji thing. My bet is that Samsung manufacture the sensor for Fujifilm to Fujis specs....but yes, could be adding some of their own tech when it comes to AF.
  10. I can't think of any Cinema Cameras that have sensor stabilisation.......
  11. Thought some people might be interested in this. It's a handy SATA to USB C Adaptor/ enclosure. I'm going to try and mount it to my P4K Rig so I can use any 2.5"SSD's via the USB C port. This adaptor is good because you can just leave the USB C Plugged in and slide in the drives as you need to as well as them being somewhat protected by the case. The problem with many of the Samsung T5 custom mounting solutions cage/ rig manufacturers are coming out with is that if Samsung change the body of the drive, it's game over for your mount. 2.5" SSD is an industry standard and isn't changing anytime soon....although yes, it is much bigger than the T5. https://www.amazon.com/Vantec-Type-C-Storage-Adapter-CB-STC31-2PB/dp/B01N686KIU Thoughts?
  12. Don't take it too personally, I was referring to 'we' as a community on the whole. I just quoted your line in my first post as it was the most recent complaint about how BMD are releasing their product. Moving on, I wonder what would have created more of a stir, a camera company giving us nothing that we wanted (Canon with the EOS R maybe?) and inviting Andrew to a PR event or, BMD.....giving us what we all have been wanting for such long time but not inviting Andrew?
  13. To gain what? Seems they already have plenty of pre-orders. That Manchester event wasn't Andrews style. When was the last time you saw Andrew on camera repeating a boring old press release? They aren't ignoring this community......they are giving it exactly what it wants.
  14. Come on.....seriously? $1300 for a camera with the specs of the Pocket4K AND a full license of Davinci Resolve? How exactly is that not being bold! BMD have literally given everyone what they have been complaining about for years.....RAW, 4K60p, 10bit, great colour science, good dynamic range.....and at an amazing price so we now complain about the way they are marketing/releasing the camera? It's official, camera companies will NEVER win.
  15. People seem to be making a big deal about the fact that there hasn't been an in depth review yet of this camera...which hasn't even been released. Tell me, how many other camera manufacturers have allowed in depth critical reviews of their cameras pre release? Go to your BMD retailer when they are in stock, test the camera out yourself and make your decision based on what you experience and with the other reviews that will come out once the camera is released. It seems that the real issue here is that people today are just too damn impatient. Then we have people complaining about the release being delayed even though we are still in September. Have people really gone ahead and planned a shoot for October 1...is that why everyone is so impatient? Seems like everyone has a case of the Veruca Salts!
