  1. Wasn’t Panasonic working on an 8K camera that you could use to to punch out multiple UHD angles? Here comes BM with a 12K that can punch out multiple 4K angles with one camera in the studio. I can seem them implementing something in DaVinci Resolve where you can track multiple subjects in a single 12K frame with smooth panning and closeups and edit in multi view like it was 4 different cameras. Take a cooking show for example. Only need one camera for a wide shot. Punch into waist level shot of talent, face closeup, working with food closeup. Just one camera and one operator and an assistant.
  2. Did you know ajay that squarespace is the all in one platform for website building with award winning templates suitable for any kind of business? I kinda feel sorry for T&C to be honest. I rarely watch their stuff but it must be soul sucking make those videos.
  3. Olympus was known for their quirky features. Nipple detect AF would have rounded out the starry AF feature. Maybe canon took a page from their book when they implemented brown eye AF tracking?
  4. Yes, I changed my tune on the megapixel Grand Prix because advancements like this are win-win. I don’t need 12K, or 8K but a 4K image from a 3x3 bayer array 12K sensor....awesome. So the headline is 12K but the meat of the story is the awesome oversampled 8K and 4K output from this camera. Same with the R5. Headline is 8K but we finally have a Canon mirrorless camera with 4K, IBIS, and 10-bit 422. That’s a win and a step forward.
  5. I agree. But I’m hoping a GH6 will have improved IBIS, the tweaked S1H color science and PDAF. All that with the usual reliability and unlimited recording we’ve come to love from GH cameras. Too bad the IBIS doesn’t work with the IS in the 12-100 on Panny cameras. They need a similar lens with IS!
  6. Just like we need more than 640K of RAM or a car that goes 180mph. If you don’t want that speed buy the Honda Civic. $10K for this? The Red Komodo is not looking so tasty anymore for the people in that market. $10K invest that will probably will spread out over 8 years (If the body doesn’t break!). I think this was a smart move. The 6K pocket Pro can come later. Hopefully with more compelling features for handheld solo shooters.
  7. That it’s a Sony sensor. If it’s a non Sony sensor, I think it highlights the importance, that at least blackmagic thinks, of shopping around or working with another sensor manufacturer other than Sony.
  8. You might still get either from blackmagic or another brand.
  9. What a crazy year (in more ways than one), and it’s not even over. R5/6...A7Siii...GH6 (expected)...Z6/7S
  10. Sounds like a wildlife videographers dream.
  11. How about a RasPi challenge? Build, then film something with it.
  12. You don’t see them because Jared isn’t, from what I can tell, interested in educating peopling about photographic choice it has more to do about money and who pays the advertising dollars. Jared made that video to make money and stir the controversy soup before he spat out another video about the topic. I mean its a full time job making content about the same damn shit Over and over again...because at the end of the day they are all scared a glitch in the YouTube master system will erase their controversy peddling business overnight. I have no problem with them making videos and making money. It’s when they pander to their corporate overlords, in constant fear their mouths will be ripped from the marketing teet, with the pretense that they are “educating” their viewers. No, they are just advertising middlemen.
  13. We are assuming, based on the chart, that the 4K30p includes 24/25 fps. Logic would assume so, the canon cripple hammer works in mysterious ways however.
  14. This is the single biggest contributing factor to why the EOS R5/6 are the way they are. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out how to put a heat sink in. They could have had an exposed heat sink system on the back. To increase recording times maybe the compromise would be to have the screen flipped out. I get that they didn’t want to put a fan because they wanted to keep the ethos of the R5 the way it is. They still could have done a lot to make video work better for the specs they put in there. They decided not too. And we all know why.
  15. There are something like 6 free Hasselblad film cameras on the moon for the taking.
  16. I like how everyone just refers to him as toneh now. Does that count as cyberbullying?
  17. Trying to sneak them into every post are you now?
  18. Yes, its done in camera. Yep, pieces starting to fall into place. When I heard they were planning a firmware with clog3 and lower bitrates my fears about possibly buying this camera went down a bit. If the rolling shutter is good in the 4K pixel-binned modes for unlimited recording then its positives outweighs the negatives for me and my usage. All the negatives suck for sure, but giving the performance of the IBIS, possible DR improvements with Clog3, 4K120p, 10-bit 4:2:2 all around in a canon camera with canon AF and colors...my wallet is the one catching fire at this point. Still going to hold out and see what others are going. Possible two extra stops DR latitude (clog3 caps out at 14 stops; clog is capped at 12). If the R5 could get close to 13 with clog3 then it will be a very nice camera indeed.
  19. I hear the 8K footage is still importing...my be awhile 😎
  20. I would be highly surprised to see any new MFT mount cameras from BM. I honestly think they are going to do S35 and FF moving forward. Just a hunch.
  21. @Yurolov Andrew has already posted about it on the main page. All oversampled modes except the APS-C crop have a recording limit. The only full sensor FF mode that doesn’t over heat is pixel binned. Which in my opinion makes the R5 a better buy over the R6.
