Connect DSLR to computer's lcd monitor?

Yeah, the monitor has HDMI, and I believe the camera has the latest firmware (I'm usually on top of that), but I can also try the latest Magic Lantern. -
Is it possible to connect my 5D MIII to my computer's Dell 27" monitor to use as a viewing monitor for video recording? I know I could go through the computer and use the EOS tools, but I was thinking of just using the monitor as a viewing station. Thanks in advance
