Haha, all good. Its good to see the EOS M getting a good work out Best cam for me in my opinion. A lot of people are seeing its true potential and what beautiful footage it can create for the price. -

I think color grading should be allowed. What if canon users want to use EOS HD profiles or cinestyle? Some of these look flat. -

No problem. I they're both great cameras for sure! I just prefer the form factor of the EOS M and how the files look when they're graded compared to the 5DII. Cheers -

I have two EOS M's and have had two 5D2's, the 5D is cleaner than the EOS M without the speedbooster at high ISOs. Pop a speedbooster on the EOS M and then they're pretty close with the 5D slightly at the upper hand. Honestly, I don't get the point of shooting at high ISO's (unless it's your base ISO e.g. 800). If you must shoot in the dark, just use some cheap lights, an iphone screen or something and then add de-noising and it's fine. -

No problem. It's cheap as chips, you can't go wrong. I used to have a Panasonic G85, I'd choose the EOS M with ML any day of the week for my purposes. The EOS M2 is also developing with it's magic lantern capability, though not sure if it's fully ready as I haven't seen any examples anywhere. It has a little more Dynamic Range (11.4 vs 11.1 on the original M). Not a world of a difference though. -

Yes you can in ML Menu, not sure about the normal EOS M Menu. -

This is what my Editing Board looks like in Final Cut PRO X. Typically the same format for all my videos. I use Davinci Resolve for the BMPCC. -

No, no slow motion was used in the video "quick night test", it's just really slow movement from myself and a bit of stabilisation. The Tamron 85mm f1.8 VC is a renown lens, should be good, although it will make footage look a little compressed if that's what you're after. The VC is really good on it, I used to have the 45mm F1.8 a while back with my 5DIII. -

Nice one, it actually works really nicely! I use a Macbook PRO 2012 with 16gb ram and 512gb ssd and upscaling to 3840x2160 is fine. I exported a total 114 clips with that resolution. The trick is that I record for no more than 6 seconds per shot or below 10 seconds at max which is all I need. So it exports quickly per clip when upscaling to 4K. Longer clips will take a long time. -

720p is a no-go with RAW on any ML Capable camera as it will produce aliasing like crazy! Aliasing is common nature for digital cameras, some more than others. There is aliasing even with Blackmagic RAW Cameras. I wouldn't touch 720p at all. I also have the nifty fifty STM and that lens is really great, but aliasing can be quite pronounce depending on how you use it (e.g. infinity focus or wide open). -

Thanks. The whole video was shot with just one Nikkor 50mm F/2 lens which was pretty amazing. Surprisingly no LUT was used for this, files were placed into MLV App, basic color correction e.g. white balance, exposure etc, sharpness 50% clarity -40, exported as Prores4444, RAW Linear, Upscaled to 3840X2160 and then exported from Final Cut Pro X as 4K. -

Some excerpts from a video I recorded with the EOS M and Magic Lantern RAW (June 16, 2019). I was at a mini carnival and these two Transformers came out of nowhere and started dancing and taking photos with people. They thought I was taking a photo of them, but little did they know I was recording them with Magic Lantern. A once in a lifetime shot to get close with Hollywood Transformers LOL. The whole video that goes for about 2 minutes will be uploaded on Youtube soon...Great Camera! An anamorphic lens would have done a little better maybe with the flares. -

Just watched it and it looks very nice and natural! Great work :). You must have shot a bunch of clips to get 13 minutes. I shoot around 150-200 clips and by the time I finish editing its down to about 6-8 minutes. The russian lenses are also nice, im still waiting for my PL Mounted Helios to come in from Russia. Anyway, keep up the good work! -
SLR Magic Anamorphot 1.33x Compact 40 is your best bet for that stretch. The problem is there isn't much budjet anamorphic adapters at all for single focus. Most people these days just attatch single focus rangefinder optic to the front of anamorphic adapters go make them "single focus".

Agree. Besides, it's not like those 6K Panasonic or 8K SHARP cameras can shoot RAW, although the resolution is quite attractive. They'll still have that "Digital" look. ML Raw is truly MAGIC. It will be developed even further in the near future. -

Yeah! EOS M50 with Magic Lantern would be insane. But it doesn't look like it'll be completed any time soon. By the time it finishes, there will probably be cameras out from Sony/Panasonic that can shoot 10K lol. The new Panasonic SH1 is introduced with 6K and 14 Stops of Dynamic Range and then there is an 8K Camera to be released. I'm still loving the upscaled to 4K footage from the outdated ML Cameras LOL. -

I know people who have tested the EVF-DC1 on the original EOS M and have stated that it "doesn't" work. Not sure about the EVF-DC2 I would presume that won't work either. I use this: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/V6-Magnifier-Hood-LCD-2-8x-Viewfinder-Extender-Magnetic-For-CANON-Eos-M/252672339287?epid=874907218&hash=item3ad471ed57:g:0RAAAOSwsW9YyVQF Does the trick. Funny thing, I actually superglued the frame to the EOS M, looks great and the Viewfinder works like a charm! -

If the EOS M does well, I'm presuming the 70D should also. Prores is nice if you want something quick, though skin tones and detail are not as good as RAW. I prefer my old Sony A6300 for Prores. The Dynamic Range and cinematic image are what sets the BMPCC apart from other cameras within its price range. -

I recently purchased the Original BMPCC and have only tested it gently using a Lumix 20mm f1.7. I'm waiting for a Metabones Speedbooster to arrive to officially test it with my awesome lens pile, but so far I can say the EOS M RAW is sharper and more detailed. People describe the BMPCC as having "cinematic" image due to its soft cinema look. it's like someone stuck an invisible 1/8 Black Pro-mist filter in front of the sensor. Until the other gears arrive for the BMPCC, I really do prefer the EOS M. -

Focus peaking is not great. But there is magic zoom which creates a small, medium or large box depending on which you choose on the left or right side of the LV and it magnifies the focus for you. You can also enable live view sharpness which will sharpen the subject that you have in focus. I use it all the time and it works great, especially with an External LCD Viewfinder. -

If you need AF Badly and a flip screen, the 70D would be the better choice. Personally, I'm a sucker for the EOS M.
