I used to ignore Markus Pix if it came up in my YouTube suggestions simply because he looked like a grown up 1970's Californian boy pop star...but actually, he has a decent channel and some of his stuff is quite interesting. He sort of does his own thing and doesn't seem to be selling anything ie, no obvious agenda other than running his channel and having some fun doing it.

The first is a classic film. The second is classic Lok wideo.

Hmmm..... Don't use auto exposure? Don't try and use IBIS as a replacement for a gimbal? Use a camcorder for recording longer static pieces?

Sorry, did I say 'FREE TITS'? I thought I had typed 'FERRETS' but this damned spell correct.

I make cat videos. Would this be any good? -
Views have just gone up. They missed a trick here... Titled ‘Modern Art Twat Production’ and no one will watch it, but if it had been titled, ‘CLICK HERE FOR FREE TITS!!!!!” then maybe Olympus would not be up for sale.

I think that whatever it is, they will take the opportunity to drop the word 'pocket' and use 'backpack' instead.

I hear you @Danyyyel and agree that the Z6s could be just about perfect. For my needs anyway and their lens line up is great; 20mm, 35mm and 85mm f1.8’s over 2 bodies... Nails it for me. Nikon underwhelmed a bit when they launched their mirrorless but I agree in that they do seem underrated and overlooked. I think there has been more than a bit of an element of going stir crazy these last 3-4 months which has given most of us too much time to overthink stuff in absence of doing. I just wrote a list of what I need and am sticking to that and trying not to listen to the noise.

Canon EOS R5 has serious overheating issues – in both 4K and 8K

This was funnier than the Adolf Hitler rants bunker parody about PB’s cats.

My approach is very simple also: Shoot in 4k 60p so I can slow down any piece of footage anywhere and crop in far harder than I could if I shot 1080. I think that is the beauty of shooting 4k, - not to output it as such necessarily, but to have a higher quality and more flexible starting point. Batch convert to ProRes so my PC/Premiere can handle h.265 and overnight whilst sleeping, ie, takes 'zero actual working time'. Output at 1080 for everything, job done. Same as the above poster, - I am under no illusions that I am creating a Hollywood or even Indie Art House movie, but a 9-12 minute wedding film that's going to be watched on a phone. Or a laptop. Or even a large 4k TV where still no one will 'notice' anything. No one has ever even asked for 4k or discussed it. Ever.

I have 3 subscribers to mine. I think I'm doing it wrong.

Hold THAT thought... -
I just want to tie him to a chair, get out the hair clippers and have at it. Maybe make a YouTube video about it...

Canon EOS R5 has serious overheating issues – in both 4K and 8K

Well now I have had time to look closer at and consider it, for my needs, it has to be a contender...if not the outright current leader. I'm a hybrid wedding shooter and I estimate I'm shooting maybe 70-75% stills and 25-30% video clips, rarely longer than 10 seconds, throughout a typical 9-12 hour day. I habitually switch off between shots/clips. Always have done as a Fuji shooter so would almost certainly continue that practise. Ideally, I'd like to replace what was 3 bodies and is now 2 with just a single and the R5 plus 28-70mm f2 plus battery grip with; 4k 60p 10 bit internal, backup/write 2 card slots, great IBIS, great AF, great colour... Closest I can get right now is XT4 with 16-55mm f2.8 with a couple of IBIS and AF niggles, greater lens range, but a couple of stops less DOF. I'm looking forward to some real world, non-sponsored reviews over the next up to 9 months and also waiting to see what Nikon's Z6s and Fujis XH2 are and then will make a decision but for my needs, I think we are just about there. I'll continue using a camcorder on a tripod for longer stuff such as ceremonies and speeches, though may update what it is to something more capable than I have now. I realistically think this whole overheating this IS an issue, but only for longer and continual type use, but time will tell... -
@AndrewReid will you be getting the Panasonic G-100 for vlogging and agree it is the greatest camera launch of this year? If not all time. Or do you think the Canon R5 will be the ‘hottest’ camera of COVID-2020?

Hugh Brownstone on 3BM&E just made a video on The Tube that mentions this but not finished watching it all yet. -

Which is why, in a completely unpretentious manner, all my work is at minimum off a freestanding monopod. I am interested in IBIS, but only if I can get a super super steady shot, but even then it annoys me. It’s like black or white and chalk or cheese, either deliberate camera movement for a reason or the subjects move, but slightly bouncy floaty handheld look I don’t like and it spoils most of Netflix for me because all I am aware of is the camera operator! On that basis, happy with my XT3 on sticks! -

I have to say that without wishing to bash them in any way, but yes, their standard of photography is mediocre at best. When a new camera is reviewed and then a gallery posted, I’ve looked at the gallery and reminded myself (again), not to look at their galleries. -

@Chxfgb I think the 'secret to life' these days is not to read the comments section. Anywhere. Ever. I sometimes look at places such as DP Review for kit reviews and news etc, but avoid the comments section like it starts with a C and has a 19 in it. -

I'm a long standing member and actually it's a very friendly place and no silly tiffs that ever get out of hand. Disagreements at times yes, but it's very well moderated. It is not an especially 'technical' place other than for Fuji and yes it does have a dedicated video section but that is basically even more dead than the dodo. In short, it's more a fun, Fuji user hang out than anything. Which is fine. The complete opposite of Fuji Rumors however where the comments section is utterly toxic combined with a lot of general muppetry. Anyone with anything useful to say is shouted down by the trolls in their mothers basement, very quickly. DP Review is bad enough at times and I try and stay away from all the negative places as what's the point? -
12mp is easily enough for printing ‘large’. What 12mp tends to lack is much post-cropping latitude. As a working *cough* wedding photographer, 12mp wouldn’t bother me in the slightest if it meant ‘better’ low light capability/quality and the rest of the spec was not compromised.

The saying is “if you have lemons, make lemonade” 😜 But that would be about the sum of it for me also in that I was expecting a proper AF alternative to the S1H but it seems the R5 is really a more photo orientated camera with some video capability rather than the other way round. Please can one of them just get it right soon?! Great IBIS, 4k 60p 10 bit internal, great autofocus, twin card slots that allow back up and at least decent heat management issues, in which case shut up and take my money. I think Fuji or Nikon are going to get there first as both are literally one step away and Nikon is probably going to tick all those boxes with a Z6s very shortly... -
Exactly. Same with every manufacturer. Make your dedicated stills camera, your dedicated video camera and your dedicated hybrid camera and folks can choose depending on their needs, but there is no point in making anything near identical with no purpose. Panasonic did pretty well with the the S1H = video orientated, S1R = high end stills and S1 = decent hybrid all rounder.
