Manual is out: http://gdlp01.c-wss.com/gds/3/0300038273/01/eos1dx-mk3-ug_en.pdf Fingers crossed the R6 will have the same video spec, but knowing Canon: probably not.

In a bag it should never be an issue. A USB-A powerbank does the intentional trick good enough. I carry a spare usb cable and spare AAs just to be on the safe side. What I don't like about the Sony NP-F battery sled option is it won't fit in a bag, unless you get the hirose sled and hook that up to an external Sony sled, which would cost quite a bit more than a usb powerbank. I paid about $60 for mine, and it came with free jump start leads for the car.

I'm using a USB powerbank with my MixPre 6. It's in an old (perfect fit) portabrace bag with a right angle usb-c cable attached. I can't see how it could get disconnected, but if it did the Mixpre6 automatically switches back to the AAs. I could gaff the right angle usb-c cable in place, but haven't felt the need to. It's a smaller USB-A powerbank, so only operates in low power mode: 1-2 48v phantom powered mics.

Love the super taks, my second favorite lenses after the Leica-r. Were you using pro-mist filters too?

Sigma Fp review and interview / Cinema DNG RAW

It's 1080p lineskipped up to 60fps, just like regular liveview. If you wanna shoot higher res than 1080p, then it's lower frame rate and not always centred, and can be greyscale. I don't usually shoot higher res than 1080p because the rolling shutter is worse at higher resolutions, and I'm content with the IQ of the 4K upscaling and a touch of sharpening. -

Yeah the 5D MK3 is way better than the EOSM and 50D in every respect, IQ, DR, high ISO, and yes preview is real-time with proper framing, just like regular liveview only with a lot more display options. Magic Lantern has the same dynamic range as 14bit raw photo mode: 11.7 stops @ 100 ISO. It's a filmic grade, so the blacks are somewhat crushed. I'm not a big fan of low contrast or HDR type looks unless it's a creative decision driven by a particular narrative. I have a Pocket 4K too, but I still like the look of the 5D MK3, the color science, cadence, and highlight rolloff are very good. About the only things I don't like about the 5D are its high ISO performance, fixed pattern noise, and limited dynamic range. It looks great upscaled to 4K. I always use a promist filter on the Pocket 4K, it looks too digital without out. My gut feeling is: I should wait for a 3rd party OLPF before I take the plunge with the FP. I do really like the color science and the form factor. Nice shot. -

I was hoping the FP would be a 4K replacement for my 5D MK3 with Magic Lantern, but so far I haven't really seen anything that suggests it's much of an upgrade. Here's some sunrise beach shots taken with Magic Lantern 14bit lossless raw upscaled to 4K for comparison. The FP is definitely an improvement shooting high ISO, but it doesn't look like there's any dynamic range improvement, which is disappointing. The thing that concerns me the most is the aliasing and moire, which hasn't been a problem with the 5D. -

There's definitely something screwy going on with the 6K to 4K downsampling. Very impressive at -3 stops, doesn't lose saturation like the Pocket 4K and X-T3 do. This guy is not a fan. I suspect he's never graded linear raw before. -
TRIGGER WARNING "I was pushed onto the bed and Brett got on top of me. He began running his hands over my body and grinding his hips into me. I yelled, hoping someone downstairs might hear me, and tried to get away from him, but his weight was heavy. Brett groped me and tried to take off my clothes. He had a hard time because he was so drunk, and because I was wearing a one-piece bathing suit under my clothes. I believed he was going to rape me. I tried to yell for help. When I did, Brett put his hand over my mouth to stop me from screaming." You may think that's just foreplay, but as far as the law is concerned, that's sexual assault. And BTW: Running defence for a sexual predator: really gross.

This deliberate mess the ruling class has gotten us into is a lot more dangerous than most people want to believe. We have 3 options: 1) Revolution 2) Elect genuine community representatives to our parliaments, get money out of politics, and abandon the 2 party system. 3) Extinction Anyone who thinks extinction is a joke really needs to read more; climate change, the rise of fascism, and diminishing resources are creating a perfect storm. Revolution is the same shit going around in circles, the working class takes down the ruling class only to end up under the thumb again, take China for example. We need to evolve, and fast. The only workable solution is option 2. Hacking the system will be hard, but sitting on the fence and doing nothing guarantees one of the other 2 options will transpire. As filmmakers we can play an important part in this process. I made campaign films for 3 independent candidates in this year's Australian federal election, one of whom was elected (see below). There's a growing movement in Australia for grassroots independent representation, and we'll be much more organised at the next election. Left and right is a construct made to divide and conquer. We need to focus on the issues that connect us instead of ideology, otherwise we're all screwed. Filmed with a 5D MK3, Magic Lantern raw 1080p upscaled to 4K, and Leica Elmarit R 35mm and 90mm vintage prime lenses. Edited and graded in Resolve + Filmconvert + http://www.colorghear.com/

I’m using a Sigma 17-50mm and the Viltrox M2, no problems with IS or iris with that combo. I haven’t upgraded to 6.6, too buggy.

From what I've seen/heard it's line skipping/pixel binning, not downsampling, that plus no OLPF is a recipe for moire/aliasing. The Pocket 4K has a 4K sensor, there's no line skipping or pixel binning so aliasing is minimal. The thing with aliasing is it's always there lurking and you can never be sure when it's going to rear its ugly head. I've had aliasing wreck an important shot with the Pocket 4K, thankfully it's the only one. -

Just need an OLPF. Whilst I like just about everything about this cam, the aliasing is a worry. I won't touch it until there's a solution.
