Get a cheap g7 or gx85. I have the g7 and the 4K is really nice and should match with your gh5 especially if both are in cinelile d. Also they have a great built in intervilometer that works with raw stills and can also compress them into 4K 100mbps 24fps. Both are really cheap

Yeah. I don’t feel that I need any of the new features, but want to try them because they seem really cool. Although I can cut pretty darn fast on the existing edit page.

Does the 17-50 have a manual appetite ring? I want to get it with a manual speed booster to save $$ This lens has killer range at 2.8, and for $300, WOW
-
I meant the 17-50 2.8 not 17-35 (don’t think that lens exists lol).

We will all be comforted by tompeter’s warm, glowing for sale ad in the midst of a dark, discouraging world...
-
Yeah it seems killer for the price. Without a speed booster is 34-100 2.8 for $300

Are you referring to the z cam e1 or something else? -
The best focus peaking I’ve ever seen on a camera is on Blackmagic and canon. It’s just so easy to see. Will try monochrome on my next shoot and tell you guys if it helps. I’ll also stop down sometimes. Thanks all!
-
Thinking about getting this lens because it’s cheap fast and versatile. Either will get it with or without speedbooster. Anyone uses this lens on micro four thirds without speedbooster? Is speed boosting this lens worth it?
-
Thanks. The build of resolve 15 is super stable for me at the moment so I’m debating updating
-
This camera reminds me of a RED or an older Blackmagic camera. You get drawn in by the amazing specs and the low price considering those specs but then you end up having to buy a bunch of accessories just to make the camera usable. Yes a used gh5 would be similar priced to the total amount of the e2c with accessories, but the gh5 is overall superior. Who wants to use a gh4 sensor in 2019? Not me! apparently I accidentally quoted the previous post. Whoops!
-
You could be right. I shoot on a cheap meike 25mm 1.8 and usually shoot wide open. I should try stopping down as this is a cheap lens.
-
I just downvoted a bunch of tompeters posts. You all should do it too, as this guy hasn’t been banned but keeps spamming the for sale section
-
You have a good point.

Is resolve 16 beta stable enough to use professionally?
-
Cool. I’m going to try that. Thanks so much
-
I doubt they can. Why in the world would someone want to do that? Linux gets very few viruses because not many people use it. Imagine how many less people use .CUBE files!
-
Interesting. Will try. Does monochrome LV improve substantially the peaking?
-
Panasonic’s implementation of focus peaking on their lumix cameras is horrible. It is affected by a few things including contrast, which means having a flatter profile negates the effectivity of focus peaking. Also the sharpness setting seems to affect it which sucks because I like little to no internal sharpening. My current settings are natural with contrast at -5 and sharpness at -5. Focus peaking settings are set to low and blue color. Barely any peaking appears unless I’m in a pretty high contrast scene. How do you guys find the focus peaking? Any ways to improve it? An external monitor would be obvious but the g7 can’t do that while recording
-
Amazing dude. Shame andromeda got bought out instead of open sourcing the hack.
-
Feels like they took the e1 and swapped the processor for 10 bit lol. I hope the e1 gets a raw hack as it already got hacked for high bit rates on personalview.com. I wish I bought one of these at $250
-
Do you guys know why the focus peaking is so horrible on the g7 and barely shows half the time?
-
Pretty much. I think it has the gh4 sensor, so low light will be crap. But still one of the most capable and feature rich cameras for that price.
