About Me

I am a photographer and filmmaker and writer for Petapixel.

I am educated in photographic and optical science, photographic history, and I am always continuing to learn. I used to repair vintage 35mm and medium format cameras and lenses, but have since moved on to better paying and more interesting work. I also moved into restoring and repainting vintage cameras - a skill that was perfected after many years of trial and error, embarrassing missteps, and a lot of learning from a number of veteran camera repairmen and one world-class master of camera & lens customization (No I will not tell you who he is).

(As of the writing of this "About Me" I am striping and repainting a Minolta Autocord LMX and a Leica M3 Double Stroke)

I also do custom lens conversions to mirrorless mounts and M-mount, though I am far from mastering it at the moment. Most recent: Minox Minotar 35/2.8 to Nikon Z mount and Contax G 2/35 Planar to Leica M.
