Bit depth and dynamic range are different. Apparently n-log can only hold 13 stops. But tbf not many cameras are exceeding that anyway.
-
They should put the IMX366AJK in the z7iii. 44.72 million pixels 26.15ps in still image mode 12-bit 8K videos at up to 30 frames per second Who cares about 60mp. Looks like a capable sensor but step down from the z8/9 stacked.

I am very interested on that rumour about a new Nikon log
-
It's actually the easiest thing ever. You just input the colour space/ log curve the footage was shot in, and output whatever colour space and gamma curve you want. Can use it to go straight to rec709 or transform to arri log to use arri luts.
-
You can now set the Nikon lenses to linear for manual focus btw
-
Create sliders for basic tools that function in a similar way that they would in capture one. Exposure, wb, shadow, highlights, contrast, saturation, etc. Most of this exists in existing dctl's or even in resolve already but it's either not user friendly, or doesn't function in a way that's pleasing enough. I'm going to try hacking things together but I know I'll definitely need help.
-
Do you have experience with dctl's? I'm attempting to make one when I have spare time
-
I haven't used the z8 so I can't compare, but I haven't been impressed with the r5/ r5c that much tbh
-
Are you able to repost?
-
I've never used aces, but I can tell you that the correct cst inputs are ARRI LogC3 and rec2020.

Open gate is a killer feature. A better log curve would be a huge bonus too. Especially if it apes Arri the same way Fuji did. A lot of people seem lost on how to get the most dynamic range out of the files in post.

The canon 24-105 looks great. I've never had anything longer than 85, so getting something longer would just be for fun to mix it up. I guess the 35-150 can be an all in one, but it's almost not wide enough for events. Good point on weight too. My dream would be for Nikon to release a 24-50 f2 zoom. Ideally not as big and heavy as the canon 28-70. I really want that 24mm, and 70mm is a bit of a nothing length, I'd rather pair it with an 85.
-
Yeah that 35-150. I was looking at the 70-180 but the 35-150 is basically double the range.
-
I wish. Camera companies seem to absolutely hate standards though. We need the EU to step in to the industry
-
Late, but I support xs20 over anything else, unless you have the budget for xh2s
-
100%. Open gate is the only thing really holding me back on the Z8 (aside from price) it's overkill in every other way for me. In a good way. Also I'd prefer they still had the 4:5 crop option for photos, but I don't think anyone has that.
-
What happened to that samsung sensor
-
Footage looks clean and with great colours, but not the best example of dynamic range considering the shadows/ blacks. But that could be how it was shot/ graded.
-
if they added open gate (and 4:5 for stills), I'd probably cave and buy this camera. It's expensive but those 2 things would really tip the scales for me.

A lot of this has moved to discord etc. which sucks because there's so much information being written and discussed that will never be accessible again once it's moved too far up the convo chain. Messaging communities are great but you need a link to access, and nothing will ever be searchable via google either.

Has anyone posted some footage from the Z8/9? I want to see what I can do with it in resolve now. Also probably don't bother competing with people charging $200
-
Probably have to manually input focal length

Artificial voices generated from text. The future of video narration?
D Verco replied to Happy Daze's topic in Cameras
anyone found any voice synthesis that's any good? -
I wish Nikon did an S-line 42mm. I'd replace my 35 and 50mm. 24mm - 42mm - 85mm. 42mm always should've been the 'standard' focal length
