Wanted to showcase my latest album with a song fitting the 80s and what better way than a slot car racing track. Doesn't get any more 80s than that. Looked up a guy with a Scalextric slot card track and brought over my A6000,the kit-lens, the 50mm 1.8m two cheap LED lights and some blue gels and got to work. Lit everything so it would look like moonshine on a clear night and just got the angles. Edited in PP and stabilized. Some grading needed but no noise reduction used. Everything is handheld including the POV, although that took some DIY to get right.

Tried to capture the spirit of my little, but beautifully Korg Poly-800 analog synth from 1983. Sony A6000 with the 50mm 1.8 along with the kit-lens for some wide shots.

Hello Everyone! I'm selling a Canon 50mm 0.95 lens that recently came into my possession. The is a vintage lens and has a few minor signs of age, but in general is in excellent condition. It has very recently been cleaned, re-calibrated and refit with a 6 bit leica M mount by DAG camera, so the glass is in very, very good condition (only used for a few test shots since cleaning). Asking price is $3000 US (shipping included, will ship anywhere). Anyone interested please let me know! Pictures: http://postimg.org/gallery/8ox7gaoa/7e7472ed/ As for me, I am a long time EOSHD reader and GH2 user. You can find my youtube channel here: https://www.youtube.com/user/Dogen/videos I am also looking to sell a nearly mint Voigtlander 17.5mm 0.95 for micro four thirds. Asking price is $900 US--I apologize for not having any pictures at this point. Thanks for the interest and happy shooting!

Hey, I need suggestions which manual 50mm prime lens to pick up. I shoot with an APS-C Canon DSLR and a Panasonic GH3. Right now I have two 50mm lenses, one being the Canon 50mm f/1.8 and the other one being a Rikenon 50mm f/1.7. I also have the MFT Olympus 45mm f/1.8. Now I know that there's a ton of cheap, old 50mm primes but I don't know which one to pick up. The Canon is alright but isn't really useful when shot wide open because of purple fringing and general lack of sharpness. The Rikenon 50mm f/1.7 is a bit better wide open, so I'd just use this one BUT there's not stops between f/1.7 and f/2.8, which is really annoying. So I'm looking for a 50mm lens that is fairly useful wide open, has f-stops inbetween wide open and f/2.8, isn't too expensive and has a nice build quality. A local shop sells the Yashica 50mm f/1.7 for crazy cheap but I've heard mixed things about it. Is the Yashica 50mm f/1.4 better than the f/1.7 version? What about the Super Takumar 50mm f/1.4? How do these compare? And any other option that I should be looking into? Thanks a ton in advance, Moritz

"Le Rire" A Short Film shot on the Blackmagic Cinema Camera MFT
covertfilm posted a topic in Cameras
This is a little 2 minutes short film we shot with the Blackmagic Cinema Camera. It is our first major field test of the camera and we weren't disapointed at all. We shot with a Canon 50mm 1.8 & SLR Magic 25mm 0.95. Coming from a DSLR background, I was really surprised how well he dynamic range really held up. We shot ProRes for everything except the opening and closing shots which we shot RAW. We used one bounce card but the rest was available light. It's titled: "Le Rire". As you can probably tell by the heavy-handed french music, we were aiming for the feel of a pixar-esque short. Hope you enjoy! http://youtu.be/icVmrZWD77A As far as post production goes I edited in Premiere and mixed audio in Audition. Color correction/grade with Colorista II. A light pass of film grain was added via an "editwithlight" filmscan overlay thingy. Thoughts? We love feedback! Thanks, Luke Starring: Madeline Pickens & Jared Locke Written, Directed and Edited: Luke Covert Director of Photography: Myles Extras: Michael Good Production Assistant: Allie Amstutz Le Rire is french for "Laughter"-

Hey there, Long time reader, first time poster. I recently filmed an engagement session, and wanted to achieve a shallow depth of field in bright light without using an ND filter. So, knowing that I would end up slowing the footage down to about 40%, I cranked up the shutter speed in order to hit around f/2. The results? Well, see for yourself: http://acelegendary.com/blog/2013/4/9/sean-liz-save-the-date Filmed with the following gear: 7D + Zeiss 50mm f/2 Makro-Planar and T2i + Canon 50mm f/1.4 (on Glidecam HD2000).
