  1. Hey guys, Just wanted to share a promo I just made for DKNY with the Sony a7S. This was made as a tribute to my beautiful wife, Kari, whom passed in August 2015 from Cystic Fibrosis - a chronic illness with no known cure. Every shot but the New York B-roll was with the a7S (recorded in 4K by the Atomos Ninja Flame), and graded with FilmConvert. I hope you enjoy the video. Please let me know what you think! Best wishes, Bradley
  2. I've been using the SmallHD DP7 and loving it, but it's pretty heavy. Using it on top of my GH4 with a hot shoe swivel head is clunky. It falls down all of the time. Comes loose. You name it. I searched the market for anything that would attach both sides of the monitor allowing for swivel, and a sturdy grip. Found nothing. I decided to build it myself out of parts found on eBay, and B&H. Here are the links to parts I used: CAGE: http://www.ebay.com/itm/FHUGEN-HONU-V2-0-VIDEO-CAGE-Kit-with-Top-Handle-HDMI-Clamp-for-GH3-GH4-A7-A7R-/231302638084?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item35dab62a04 SIDE RAIL CLAMP: http://www.ebay.com/itm/281056066980?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT 2 PACK OF LONG 1/4"-20 SCREWS: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=&sku=920351&gclid=CPqemNGJ1cACFYk7Mgod2EoAfw&is=REG&Q=&A=details 2 LONG BRACKETS: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1062515-REG/desmond_d3d_3_mini_stereo_camera_bracket.html This could also be useful for the A7S and Shogun combo. I'll admit that this isn't ideal if you need to mount a microphone, but if you're going handheld for video only it's sturdy as hell.
  3. Some interesting news about Shogun future updates(around 5min:50sec) from Atomos CEO Jeromy Young.
  4. Hello, First of all, sorry if I didn't post in the right place.. Does anybody knows if the external 4K 4:2:2 recording with the forthcoming Atomos Shogun will require the YAGH or not? Already having sound recorders so I'll rather pass on the YAGH if 4:2:2 is available thanks to this new magical device that seems to be the Shogun! Thanks for your answers
  5. About 3 months ago, my grandmother told me some of the tactics being tossed at women by the democratic party to be used to deter an attacker... All of these of course, are to substitute a firearm. They are as follows: 1. Tell the attacker you have a venereal disease. 2. Blow your rape whistle. 3. Defecate on yourself.. (... this is legit.) and if all else fails: 4. Vomit on the attacker, and he will let you go. Since I know not one single woman on the face of the earth who can do 3 and 4 on command, I suspect this did not go over so well with the female response. However, I'd love to see this played out... so here it is:   https://vimeo.com/67751644
  6. It occurred to me today that this is the closest we have a to a full-frame BMD camera at the moment. Sony VG900 using CineGamma + Atomos Ninja external recorder using DNxHD or ProRes. I say VG900 simply because A99 has far fewer usable lendsoptions, and the poor form-factor for video, comparatively. Cost is 3000 for VG900 plus 700 for ninja, plus drives on top and Canon batteries for Ninja. Result is probably nicer to use than BMD due to many buttons and handle etc, so less need for a rig. 4000 pounds or so in total, not bad for full-frame pro-res, as long as the HDMI out isn't crippled or fudgy. I remember the shots using FS100 output seemed to give little benefit for some reason... It's probably only 4:2:0 8-biy out though, but let's hope not.
