Eagerly awaiting your Pocket Cinema Camera? You already have a micro for thirds camera and some C-mount lenses? Want to know if they will cover the sensor of the Pocket? Lets find out! I hope you will add your results, so we can make this list growing. I will only add lenses to the lists when you have proof, in other words: images. How? Because we know the active sensor area of the BMPCC measures 12,48 x 7,02 mm, it is fairly easy to check if our C-mount lenses will cover the full sensor. Calculate this by taking a picture with a lens on your micro four thirds camera, and crop out the image area of theBMPCC. In Photoshop: Open the image. Go to Edit > Image Size, uncheck resample image. Change Image width to 19 centimeters, press ok Go to Image > Canvas Size, change dimensions to 12,48 x 7,02cm, press OK to crop the image to BMPCC size. Resize to 1920x1080 pixels Post your results! Note: If you shoot on the GH3 or other MFT camera's, the sensor size is 17 x 13mm, so change the width in step 3 to 17 cm! To lazy to do it yourself or you can't work it out? Upload the full resolution files and I'll do it. Hello to everyone, I've been looking for a small anamorphic adapter for a long long time from now, and finally, I got mine. I've been hesitating about which one to take : the search of the perfect adapter that would suit all my needs.. for a reasonnable price ofc.. (Yeah, I know..) Anyway I'm so happy to tell you that I "may" have found it : The Yashica Scope, 1.5x adapter anamorphic for 8mm ! (Well let's make the things clear, I was looking for a tiny, compact, and light weight adapter, to be paired to some old school c-mount lenses on a BMPCC, I don't claim to have found an awesome setup that'll work for every scenarios ! :) ) I've just received it, that's why I'll only share my first feelings in this post, but later when I'll have time to dig more in the subject I'll come back to this. I still need a proper way to attach it to my taking lens. I gave up on step-down ring because I plan to use it most of the time on my Angenieux C-mount lenses which filter thread is 39mm... The Yashica is 30mm.. And I can't find any 39 to 30mm ring. If anyone has any info about a ring that would work, let me know ! ^_^ Anyway, the best way seems to be a custom clamp, still have to work on that... Here are some screenshots : All of these screenshots have been shot with my Angenieux 25mm f/0.95 at fast aperture (even at 0.95 for the indoor shot) with a +1 diopter from Schneider. Above f2.8 with the Angenieux 25mm, you can notice a little of vignetting on the edges, but It doesn't bother me too much, since I doesn't use the whole image, I prefer to crop in order to get a 2.35 or even a 2.10 aspect ratio. 2.66 is way too wide for most of my tastes ! :P And whatever, I'm mostly after the oval bokeh, flares and the overall look of anamorphic depth of field. So I'm good with that.. And It cleans the edges which seem to be pretty blurry on the Yashica. (By the way, above 25mm I haven't seen any vignetting with my c-mount lenses) So, have you ever experienced this anamorphic lens, what would you recommend to me in order to use it the best way possible ? See you later and have a nice day/night to all. (Oh and I apologize for my pretty weak english !) :P

Hi, I'm both videographer and photographer. Recently I try to use BMPCC as a still photography tool. Ya it's experimental but it gives some nice and unique results and images. Why do this when there are 16-36Mpix cameras? see this post in my blog: http://kwaibun.asia/index.php/blackmagic-avant-garde-way-of-photography/ Kwai

Hello everybody, here is my new anamorphic set ! :) baby Berthiot Hypergonar anamorphic 1.75X lens Qioptiq Linos MeVis-C 35mm f1.6 C-mount lens I've order a special machined step up flat ring, then unscrew from the C-mount lens the ring that maintains the glass, then replace by the flat ring. I've screwed the original Berthiot small clamp, then screw and aligned the anamorphic. This combination of these two lenses seem to be very promising. Sharpness and no vignetting :) Here is the set and two pictures taken with it on my OMD (video is coming soon). Thanks for your attention. http://www.flickr.com/photos/43243778@N04/sets/72157636631334626/

UPDATE FOR SALE HERE, end on this monday the 16th of december 2013 : http://cgi.ebay.fr/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=111235510675&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1558.l2649 UPDATE : PRICE DOWN, but NO MORE ! ;) Cine-NIKKOR 10mm f1.8 For sale !!! http://cgi.ebay.fr/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=111235510675&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1558.l2649 You can't miss this opportunity, this is a very good lens for your Blackmagic camera or your Blackmagic pocket camera ! You will have a fast and wide lens !!! This 10mm is a 24mm on BMPCC eq. in FF format !!! And it won't vignetting !!! (see picture number 2) You can also use it on M43 systems (GH1,GH2,GH3,OMD) but you will have vignette, or you can use it in ETC mode to avoid it. There is a filter thread (maybe 40.5mm) so you can use filters on it (like ND variable filter). Weight is 145gr. All metal made. Here is a test done with it on GH2. You can notice that the minimum focus distance is very short (30cm) https://vimeo.com/19586547 the lens is in good condition due to its age. Some trace of use on the barrel (7/10), few dust, no oil on the blades, few fungus, damaged coating. The glass is 5/10 (see last picture), but apparently it's not affecting the final image. Aperture rings and focus are very smooth (10/10). Sorry there is no front and rear caps. You will need an adapter from C-mount to your system to use it (not included) -no need to modify the rear barrel, and of course it is focusing up to the infinity.

Hi my anamorphic friends ! Here are some new stuff taken with my favorite light and sharp anamorphic combo. Tell me what you think ! Thanks for watching ! https://vimeo.com/78594325 This movie has been shoot a week-end mid october in Bordeaux, and first week-end of november in the countryside. I'm glad to have now I think the perfect anamorphic set combination for my baby Hypergonar anamorphic lens. I bought few weeks ago a used Qioptiq C-mount lens, usually used in industry. This lens is very sharp, even at it's fastest aperture (f1.6) and this wide aperture is still usable with the anamorphic on it ! Some of the shot of the movie had been taken at f1.6. The Filick'r album : flickr.com/photos/43243778@N04/sets/72157636631334626/ It was not possible to screw directly the anamorphic lens on the Qioptiq prime lens because the front barrel is turning when you focusing. So I ordered a special machined flat step up ring to attach the two lens. I've unscrewed the ring on the Qioptiq that is maintening the glass, and replace with the special machined flat ring. Then I screwed on it the original small Berthiot clamp that can align the anamorphic lens. Then I put the baby Berthiot hypergonar in it. The combination suits perfectly ! The weight of this anamorphic combo is quite light. The Hypergonar weight is 57 grams, the clamp maybe 20 grams, the Qioptiq is 210 gram, then the two filters (diopter + variable ND) and step up rings maybe 150 grams. So the total is around only 400 grams ! And finally using the OM-D with it's 5 axis stabilization system with an anamorphic combo is very useful ! https://vimeo.com/75065010 I've found this incredible C-mount lens on Ebay for 150€. It's a LINOS MeVis-C 35mm 1.6 C-mount lens made by Qioptiq. It's an industrial lens, usualy sold for 1090$ (pstechnik.de/en/optics-c-mount.php). The 35mm is designed for 1'' sensor. It has been used in some of the shots of Slumdog Millionaire. I'm looking for a solution to use it with my anamorphic lens my baby Hypergonar. I did some fast test and it's very promising !!!!!
