Eagerly awaiting your Pocket Cinema Camera? You already have a micro for thirds camera and some C-mount lenses? Want to know if they will cover the sensor of the Pocket? Lets find out! I hope you will add your results, so we can make this list growing. I will only add lenses to the lists when you have proof, in other words: images. How? Because we know the active sensor area of the BMPCC measures 12,48 x 7,02 mm, it is fairly easy to check if our C-mount lenses will cover the full sensor. Calculate this by taking a picture with a lens on your micro four thirds camera, and crop out the image area of theBMPCC. In Photoshop: Open the image. Go to Edit > Image Size, uncheck resample image. Change Image width to 19 centimeters, press ok Go to Image > Canvas Size, change dimensions to 12,48 x 7,02cm, press OK to crop the image to BMPCC size. Resize to 1920x1080 pixels Post your results! Note: If you shoot on the GH3 or other MFT camera's, the sensor size is 17 x 13mm, so change the width in step 3 to 17 cm! To lazy to do it yourself or you can't work it out? Upload the full resolution files and I'll do it. List terms explained: Yes = covers the full sensor of the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera No = doesn't cover the sensor Needs modification = Doesn't fit on C-mount to M43-adapter without modifications Equivalent = The focal length and depth equivalent on a fullframe camera (5D Mark III for example) Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera Compatibility list Primes Apollo 25mm f/0.85 - Yes = 72mm f/2.4 equivalent [link to proof] Angenieux 10mm f/1.8 Retrofocus (Fixed Focus) - Yes (dark corners) = 28,8mm f/5.2 equivalent [link to proof] [more info] Carl Zeiss Jena Tevidon 10mm f/2 - Yes - Needs modification = 28,8mm f/5.8 equivalent [link to proof] [more info] Carl Zeiss Jena Tevidon 35mm f/1.9 - Yes - Needs modification = 101mm f/5.6 equivalent [link to proof] Century 9mm f/1.8 - YES (poor quality) [link to proof] Computar 8mm f/1.3 - NO [link to proof] Computar 16mm f/1.4 - NO [link to proof] Computar TV Lens 25mm f/1.8 - YES = 72mm f/5,2 equivalent [link to proof] Cosmicar 8,5mm f/1.5 - NO [link to proof] Cosmicar 12.5mm f/1.8 - YES - Needs modification = 36mm f/5.2 equivalent [link to proof] Cosmicar 25mm f/1.8 - YES - 72mm f/5.2 equivalent [link to proof] Ernitec 6.5mm f/1.8 - YES (heavy distortion) [link to proof] Ernitec/Navitar 17mm f/0.95 - YES (v. blurry corners & distortion) [link to proof] Fujinon TV 12.5mm f/1.4 - Yes (blurry corners) - Mod.? Panasonic GH2 + Flowmotion V2.02 Hack. Color Graded to taste. Download my BozGH2Pana_GT Film LUT for Panasonic GH2 Cameras HERE: https://bulentozdemirfilms.wordpress.com/downloads/bozgh2pana-gt-film-lut/ Music: Ross Bugden - Dawn

It's the eleventh hour for the GH2, but it will still be a few months before I have its replacement in my hands so I am still trying to get the best possible performance out of it. And I'd still like to hang onto it as a B-cam, but not until I work some issues out. I did a full-range ISO test of my GH2 with the Flowmotion 2.02 settings, starting at 12800 and working my way down to 160. I did this after reading a little more about the GH2 ISO bug. Initially, I had read that if you wanted to use ISOs 320, 640 or 1250, you had to switch the camera on and first go to [i]any[/i] higher ISO, and then back to one of these three to minimize noise. Then I did some more reading on Personal-View and apparently what you want to do is go to the next ISO increment up, and then back down to the desired setting (so if you want ISO 320, go to ISO 400, then back to 320; if you want 640, go to 800, then back to 640). This seemed to result in a MUCH cleaner image than my initial tests with the first image. The footage is pretty usable up to ISO 1250, at least with the Flowmotion hack. What really surprised me was this: [img]http://www.eoshd.com/comments/uploads/gallery/album_13/gallery_18451_13_3510.jpg[/img] ISO 160 Flowmotion 2.02 Noise enhanced for visibility 500% crop [img]http://www.eoshd.com/comments/uploads/gallery/album_13/gallery_18451_13_74801.jpg[/img] ISO 320 Flowmotion 2.02 Noise enhanced for visibility 500% crop This tells me that working around the ISO bug as I have talked about above, ISO 320 is actually much [i]cleaner[/i] than 160. In fact, it's the cleanest ISO (at least with this hack on my camera). Thoughts?

Recently created a new (one-off) LUT for the Panasonic GH2 because like me, I know there are people out there who still use (or would love to get back into using) this soon to be forgotten gem of a camera for video. Though it's not free, it's still cheaper than a Golden Arches Meal and worth checking out the page even if it's just out of curiosity. Thank you. Just to be very clear... not shot by me!! I wish it was! It looks great. But I just happened to come across it, and had to share it, as it is a nice example of what can be shot with GH2 in capable hands.

I did a rough test between three cameras: the Nikon D750, Lumix GH2, and Black Magic Pocket Camera. I wanted to see how their videos compared in general. I'm swamped in work, so I couldn't make this as good as I wanted. I literally shot it on lunch break from a day job at an PR firm. However, I think the results are clear and I wanted to share the video and a link to my blog with you guys in hopes that others can learn or give me some good feedback on questions I raise. I'm rusty on the whole shooting thing because I've devoted the last 3 years to teaching and commercial work/writing. It's good to get back into it, and necessary because I have a script I want to shoot next month. http://www.production1studio.com/2016/02/23/3-camera-test/ I know some won't be interested in the blog link above, like I'm plugging myself, but there is a lot of insight into the footage, what I was trying to do, and a big piece on lenses and the way they work (like feel) on different cameras.

Hello, we just shot a little video with a german MMA Fighter / Hip Hop Artist. We shot it on GH4 and GH2 and used a Cam-Mini 2 Gimbal. Luckily a friend at Deli Creative Collective graded it for us. We would love to hear some feedback. We want to grow - as you know there are no limits ;-) We added the video to the Sony competition and if you like to support us it would be great if you could like the video on youtube. (The youtube likes are needed to get to the next round) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P39xYXsoUS0&feature=youtu.be Have a nice evening!

Hi all, I was wondering if you wouldn't mind looking at some of my work and giving me some constructive criticism. I've graduated from film on the gh2 to currently the gh4 and I've started my own local film business. Nothing massive just a hobby I enjoy so why not get paid to do it. Please take a look and let me know what you think. I'm always willing to try new things and learn from past mistakes. Thanks for your time http://m.youtube.com/channel/UCcn5e_l0y_ryAUJ5VXSXK3A

Panasonic GH2 hacked Moon Trial 5 hack, shot in 1080p HBR mode 25 fps (~ 60Mbps) Standard profile -2-2-2-2 Panasonic 14-42mm kitlens, OIS on. Looks like there are some dropped frames in the GH2 footage, did use a Sandisk 95MB/s card though... Panasonic G6 AVCHD 1080p 25 fps (24Mbps) Standard profile -5-5-5-5 Panasonic 14-42mm kitlens, OIS on. Everything shot with the same fixed white balance at 1/50s, various apertures but same on both camera's at all times. My first impressions: The G6 looks better to me. Better shadow detail and a bit more detail in the highlights. Probably due to flatter picture. The G6 shares the picture styles with the GH3, so no smooth like on the GH2. Kept both camera's on standard to keep it as close as possible. Everything dialed down maximum. Less noise at high iso's, less banding. Couldn't detect any moire. Looks a tad less sharp than (hacked) GH2, but that could be up to the sharpening at -5. With some sharpening probably same detail level. Rolling shutter looks the same to me. Although the G6 is a bit smaller I actually prefer the grip to the GH2. It holds very nicely. The lcd is much much better. The color cast on the GH2 screen is horrible. The G6 looks pretty natural and true to the output. Funny thing: the viewfinder looks quite smaller to me.

Would you recommend me a good 35mm taking lens that can go wide open but still sharp enough for use with a Kowa 8z on a gh2. What would be the sharpest lens possible for that combination? What would be the best/reasonably cheap option? Any recommendations accepted. What hack would you use for sharpest image. Sedna Aq1? Thanks!

They should consider doing some 4K coverage as well ;) http://www.bbc.com/news/world-latin-america-27635908

Hello everyone, We are planning to shoot a very low budget feature film this summer and I have some questions on the camera set we will use and I hope you can help me on some of the following: 1. The 16:9 sensor on the GH2 + a 2x anamorphic adapter produces a final stretched anamorphic aspect of 3.55. Which would result in (1920x1080)*(2)= 3840x1080. Instead of doing the decompression from 2x, I want to interpret the shot as if pixels would be 1.333 or 1.4587. I know it keeps the image still a little deform but I think I like the look. Whats your technical and/or creative take on it? (SEE IMAGES BELOW) 2. We would project it on standard 2k (2048×1080) DCP cinemas and the final cut would fit into it with a 2048x858 (2.39:1) size movie. Am I right? or does it work in another way? 3. I am currently using Sedna AQ1 for max detail against anamorphic softening against big screen projection. Do you think it will hold enough? Would you sharpen in post? Whats you recommend any other hack? Given this 3 points which would be your opinion on this process? Have any of you seen any gh2 anamorphic content projected in 2k dcp? How does it stand? Thanks for your help! P.D. Anyone selling a Kowa 16-h (8z) In order not to be so limited with the 16D in lens minimum mm´s?

Made my own music video to showcase one of my songs. It's electronic music aka melodic dubstep. Anyhow... made this with my GH2 and GH3. All details in the description. If you like the music better alone its available online on the major streaming sites. Enjoy.

I have an upcoming video project doing online video training modules for staff members of a major NYC hospital. (It's nice to have connections. ;-) But I'm not getting paid, either. :-( ) Anyway, I'm a photographer, not a video guy and I'm trying to figure out the best way to do video with audio and not spend a ton of money on more gear. I plan on using my GH2 and (possibly) GX7, Voigtländer M4/3 lenses and probably get Final Cut to tie it all together. One other thing, I want to do some video screen captures of someone using custom software for trainings, adding a voiceover later. Since I'm a Mac guy I know of Mac applications that can do that, but all their computers are Windows, so is there a good Windows application that can do that? I'm thinking of using an external mic, probably some sort of clip-on type, since it's just voice recording. Mono or Stereo? I already have a 3.5mm to 2.5mm adaptor for a mic. I may try using both cameras, to make it more interesting for viewers, so an external audio recorder should be my best bet when editing it all together. There's stuff like time codes that I'll have to deal with, correct? Will I need lights, like small LEDs or am I better off working with ambient light? I do have fast lenses. Am I crazy trying to use 2 cameras and an external recorder, since I have no clue what I'm doing? Should I keep it simple and stick with one camera and an external mic recording direct to the camera? I'm tech proficient and have no doubt that I'd be able to pull it all together. It'll be a good learning experience. Does anyone have suggestions for mice, external recorders, reality check, etc.? Thanks!

Hi there, I have just got a Kowa 16D over the weekend. I am completely new to this and I have read on this forum and elsewhere, but I am not sure yet of what lens and clamps are best. Apparently, the Kowa 16D is not the same as the 8Z, as they say here. I have seen that in a lot of videos people is using the Helios 44 with Redstan Clamps. Is this the best for the Kowa 16D? I have also seen that some guys are using the Nikon 50mm. I have got a Panasonic GH2 with a SLR Magic 25mm T0.95. So I believe I will need to buy a lens anyway. I would like to also add some diopters as well. If you guys have some suggestions, I will very much appreciate any comments. Thank you PS: I am at work and I have the lens at home, so I will post some pictures later.

I just purchased an Industar 61 50 mm lens for my GH2 off of Craigslist. I have the right adapter it fits perfectly; yet, when I just tried to test it out (in my bedroom at night) nothing would come into focus. Please keep in mind I'm a novice learning my tools. I've read that this lens when wide open can be rather soft and isn't fast enough for indoors; yet, I didn't realize how this was connected to focus. Do you think this is the issue here? Not something wrong with the lens itself. Regardless I'll be testing it out tomorrow in daylight and have a better idea. Would appreciate any insight and lessons from your expertise! Thank you! :)

Hi, what experiences do you have with choosing the right aperture for the best possible focus? I use a gh2 + canon fd 50mm 1.4 + anamorphic adapter (century optix like) And i have very big difficulties to get any focus from objects more far away than 5 meters. Here a little test Any tips? Thanks a lot Emin

My GH2's continue to get used in the most demanding of environments. I shot this corporate piece using GH2's in minus 20 weather in Edmonton, Canada back in November. Not a single card error or power issue, using Flowmotion 2.02. Cameras were rock solid. The weather made the grease in the takumar lens barrels pretty sluggish but everything held up great for the exterior shots. I continue to use a full minus green gel fixed against the sensor and manually WB for superb balanced colors with zero green cast for all interior and exterior conditions. I used a Kessler pocket dolly for slides and an hd400 glidecam for upping the production value. Lift shots we're from a 60ft Genie we hired out. Interviews were shot with 50mm and 35mm (with speedbooster). Interior interview lighting was with a 1k to a 5x3 bounce and a couple of Lowell pro kickers for hair and background lighting. Edited and coloured in the much improved FCPX 10.1

Hello there, I am trying to get an anamorphic lens for my GH2 and have come across a LOMO Arriflex 20-120mm with PL mount that someone is selling for £1.400. http://london.craigslist.co.uk/phd/4297942296.html I am new to anamorphic and I was looking for the cheaper Sankor and Kowa, but I was really excited at first. After that, I read this: '?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>> Now, I am not sure if this lens it is as amazing as it looks and if the price is fair. I also found this video from what it seems to be the same lens: Any advice? Thank you for your time Borja
