I have just won a Soligor CD 8/500mm mirror lens, the rare smaller one to put behind Big Bob (see pic below). Big Bob has a rear optic of 80mm and the Soligor is 72mm so all should be OK, when it arrives.
As you know mirror lenses produce interesting aperture reflections which are round but have a hollow center because of the central mirror. (those of you may remember the Capt Scarlet & the Mysterons, a puppet show on UK TV)
Anyway, I have been thinking about what the aperture reflections will look like and indeed what the bokeh will look like when it is anamorphosed.
It may be
1 oval outside with an oval hollow
2 oval outside with a circular hollow
3 something else
What do you think?
Also what will happen to the flares? They may be
4 horizontal continuous lines as usual
5 horizontal broken lines
I have a box of virtual cigars for the winners :P
