Hello there ! We had the opportunity and luck to be part of the "Dominica Film Challenge" this year, here is the result of our week in this tiny and lovely island from the Carribeans ! Hope you'll like it. We mainly shot with a Red epic, but there is also some 5d III raw footage as we had troubles with our luggage (4 days to arrive..). There are also a few drone shots made with a phantom 2 and a gopro 4.

Dear fellows, i have been holding on from buying the gopro hero 3+ because there has been this rumour that a gopro4 with improved 4k in terms of fps and other tweeks would come out in summer 2014. where is it? you think they will release it in september? i mean this is the perfect summer sports/vacation camera, why delay it.. by the way just watched the bloom new drone+gorpo 3 film.... perfect combo, and look at the use of the low flying drone..much more dramatic than the high altitude shots that i personaly find boring.http://vimeo.com/99762227 and just found the perfect accesory for those of you that have kids! http://www.fotomarket.gr/gopro-junior-chesty-chest-harness.html im getting one for sure !!

I was offered the newest GoPro black edition for my birthday. We didn't buy it yet but while researching I red the newest GoPro's have a very low battery life. I'm combining GH3 footage with the GoPro footage. - Which GoPro would you recommend? - Perhaps the earlier version which has longer battery life? I don't want to take more then 2 batteries. - Anybody experiences with the wasabi batteries? - What things should I take into consideration when filming with both? Thanxs for the help!

Hey there Long time listener first time caller, big fan. I know it's a DSLR forum but I figured you guys wouldn't mind if I slipped a little GoPro in there. This isn't an extreme sports film. It's a bit of a self portrait, all shot on the HD Hero 3 Black. I'd love to know what you thought. (Click the vimeo logo for HD - it looks way better in HD). Cheers! http://vimeo.com/69033632

So I was trying to use my Gopro Hero2 files in Premiere Pro. I recently installed the Protune firmware update and this was the first time I was actually editing some footage. On MPC-HC, the video files played fine on my brand new PC (Core i7, Asus MB, 16Gb Ram, 128Gb SSD and Nvidia GTX 560). Of course, hardware acceleration with CUDA was activated in Premiere, so I thought I could edit those files flawlessly with Premiere Pro CS6. Big mistake. No matter how many things I tried, the video playback began to get choppy after a few seconds. I had to resort to convert these few files into an intermediate codec. I decided to also apply a barrel distortion correction filter in Virtualdub, noise removal, gamma correction, just for the sake of it. Now, don't get me wrong; If I could edit those files directly in Premiere I would do it. I had a few bad experiences with lossless codec before: most intermediate codecs, such as ProRes, aren't really lossless. Real lossless files are huge and it is nearly impossible to edit directly with them, like Lagarith or HuffYuv. But with a bit of luck, I stumbled upon Ut Video. The sheer performance of this codec is incredible: stable, efficient, fast as hell, AND lossless. It supports multithreading and the code is still maintained. It works both on MAC and PC. A 5 minute clip could fit So, If anyone needs a real lossless codec out there and reads this forum, you should definetely give it a try. Cheers,

There were all the rumors about GH3 that gonna shoot 720p @ 120 fps like LX7 and FZ200 but unfortunately Panasonic decided to turn it down. Ever since LX7 became the very first pocketable camera that shoot 720p @ 120fps, CES 2013 panasonic just announced 20x zoom ZS30 that can shoot 720 @ 120fps. YES! which means you can literally get similar high speed quality from FZ200 which can perfectly fit in your POCKET. samples below to view the quality of FZ200 in high speed recording: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k0tL-TC8FGQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C8R1tcs-qF8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A6V0LJTuhhY I am quite certain that the camera industry is actually capable of making consumer cameras to film 1080p 120fps NOW but they decided to delay it for marketing purposes. I am so keen to see an incredible pocket camera like RX100 that can shoot at such level if http://www.engadget.com/2012/09/23/aptina-unveils-1-inch-sensor-with-120fps-1080p-video-likely-for-nikon/ is true. All the cameras I mentioned above cost around $300-600.

We just finished a week in the BVI shooting with a Nikon D800, check out the video below. For the lenses we used the Nikkor 24mm/1.4 and 85mm/1.8 primes, so it was helpful with the D800's ability to record in both FX and DX format. For stabilization we used a Glidecam HD2000. The underwater shots were taken with a GoPro and RX100 (which unfortunately got fried due to a leaky underwater housing). This trip cost me a GoPro. I didn't have an underwater housing and thought it could survive a couple splashes...nope. Luckily the footage survived.Awesome trip, though. We rented a Catamaran and circled the island, which is surprisingly barren outside the town of Avalon. It's about a 4 hr journey from Long Beach by boat. http://vimeo.com/47936990
