Hello everyone, my friend Nando Morra (https://www.imdb.com/name/nm3937151/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1), Italian director, and actor, based in Naples. President of the RAMPA FILM has started a crowdfunding in Italy, his previous work "The seed of hope" won various prizes in Italy and around the world.(https://filmfreeway.com/ilsemedellasperanza) I'll provide here the synopsis of the next short movie in English language, the story is located in Naples (Italy). If someone wants partecipate at the crowdfunding please follow this link (Italian language) : https://www.produzionidalbasso.com/p...oltre-il-muro/ with PayPal. He's trying to reach the right amount of money. If someone is interested just read the synopsis and donate something, would be great, also little money could help to reach the budget necessary to shoot the film. Thanks! Now have a nice reading of the story: Short movie - "Beyond the wall" - Synopsis. SOFIA (15), lives in a low part of the historic center of Naples, loves to read and stands out in the study. Her mother, IMMA (35), is married at a very young age with BRUNO (45), because she is waiting for her girlfriend; a shotgun wedding that swept away her ambition for a degree. She is totally dedicated to family and home, she nurtures a passion for sewing which, for family needs, she has turned into work, done at home. Bruno, known superficially in the short period of engagement, after the wedding proved, from the earliest times, irresponsible and unable to keep a job for more than a few months; later he approaches alcohol and gambling, in particular slot machines, venting his frustrations towards his wife and showing him the worst aspect of him: that of an overbearing and violent person. Man considers studying a useless waste of time. In the past he has imposed this thought on his wife, and is about to do the same with his daughter, to whom he has procured a job as a saleswoman, with the expectation that she will drop out of school. Sofia, confesses to her best friend, NUNZIA (15), that, albeit with regret, she will accept the paternal decision, given that money is scarce at home, and economic responsibilities all weigh on the shoulders of her mother, for whom she also fears , physical repercussions on the part of the father, should he become his accomplice in opposing that choice. Nunzia tries to dissuade her, but when she realizes that she has no effect on her friend's decision, she decides to take from her library a book written by Malala, the Pakistani girl who fought for the affirmation of civil rights and for the right to education, in the hope that that reading will change her mind. The low in front of Sofia's is inhabited by DONNA NANNINA (70) and her son TONINO (40). The elderly woman spends most of the day sitting at the window, observing with feigned indifference what is happening outside her, with particular attention to the bass in front of her. She is the widow of a violent man, whom she has never opposed, not even on the occasion of the various physical and psychological abuse of Tonino, when in puberty she showed the first signs of homosexuality. The boy, tried by a difficult adolescence, unable to establish himself socially, after the death of his father, which occurred when he was just over twenty years old, takes the path of prostitution. The short distance that separates Tonino's bass from Bruno's is insufficient to avoid making him participate in what happens inside those walls. The arrogance of the neighbor brings back the one suffered by the father, and it is the mother who dissuades him from the temptation to intervene in defense of Imma. Sofia returns home and immerses herself in reading the book that was given to her by Nunzia, Imma is intent on tailoring works; the father returns home, tipsy and nervous for having lost the umpteenth time at the slot machines. He notices her daughter reading about her and takes her frustration out on her, snatching the book from her hand in an attempt to break it. The girl resisted him, under the terrified gaze of her mother, immobilized by her, increasing the anger of the man who gave her a violent slap and threw the book out the window, falling at Tonino's feet, as soon as he left the house . Sofia, angry at the slap and the passivity of her mother, runs away by slamming the door, forgetting her mobile phone on the table. Tonino, in contravention of his mother's suggestion not to interfere, takes the book back to Imma; the woman, still shaken by what happened, lets herself fall on the sofa and begins to leaf through it, waiting for her daughter to return. The first page of the book bears the signature “Nunzia Palmieri”. She reads and occasionally throws a glance at the wall clock and at the entrance door, hoping to see the girl come back. Several hours pass and several pages read. Bruno comes home drunk and throws himself heavily on the bed. Imma, exhausted, falls asleep on the sofa with the book in her hands. Awakened by the first rays of morning light, she instinctively turns her gaze to her daughter's cot and, seeing it intact, she catapults into the street in search of her. Frightened and disoriented, she meets Tonino who is returning from a night spent on the street. The man, noticing the panic on the woman's face, approaches her to understand her reasons. Imma, taken by a sense of bewilderment, accepts the man's comfort and tells him why she is. Tonino tells her that, the night before her daughter ran out of the house, he saw her enter the building just ahead of her and that she could still be there, offering to accompany her. Imma, remember that a friend of hers lives in that house, she accepts Tonino's company. Arriving at the intercom, Imma does not know which name to choose, she takes a look at the various surnames and “Palmieri” jumps to her eyes, the same as the signature on Malala's book. Someone knocks the door."

Ok so there was a previous forum thread regarding a rehousing project for the LA7200. Based off the video there, I have had this design in my mind for my own rehousing project and improvements as well for close focus and/or marrying the LA7200 with a manual focus lens and making an all in one lens solution for the Canon 5d Mark III. Progress is starting off well. Getting the hang of AutoCAD and designing as such. I am planning on first prototyping with a 3d printer I have access to then going to a further manufacturing step from there. Not trying to get too ahead of myself however you can keep track of the progress and id appreciate comments or suggestions regardless as I try to work this out. Steps: Design model in AutoCad --- 15% Port model into Google Sketchup 3D print prototype Test Prototype Test again.... Make changes... Probably test again.... Use AutoCad model for CNC machining Produce final model. Planned features... Close Focus and far focus at a twist of the ring. Easy to handle enclosure Focus ring easy lens adjustment Standard housing to fit Cokin P or other diopters much easier Possible features 15mm rail mount auto adjusting focus solution Housing combined with Aperture adjustor on a Canon FD manual Lens Direct connection to the 5d Mark III basically making it a hack lens using a custom EF mount or 72mm thread AF confirm chip? (not a bad idea) All the lens flares! (ALL THE LENS FLARES!) Er multicoating removal. Something like that. Close to exact Measurements via caliper - (short of cutting the existing enclosure in half. I could not get the measurements exactly for how close the back and front lens elements are in terms of distance) Front Element - Concave Width: 84.90mm Height: 72.96mm Depth: 16.25mm Rear Element - Convex Width: 52.96mm Height: 40.99mm Depth: 4.13mm Front Element Holder depth - 17.82mm Outer Hood Depth - 13.14mm Approx 23.8mm distance between the two lenses. (not entirely sure on this. Like I said, cant figure it out unless i cut the thing in half and really I want to be able to use it until the enclosure is finished at least) All in all, working pretty well so far. Got the elements into AutoCad, and its time to start designing the enclosure for it.

hello, I am looking to get a camera for shooting some video, so i thought i would post a topic. recently i have been a bit slack on keeping up with video camera / dslr news as i have been busy this past year with work and things, so i feel a bit out of touch and a little lost. should i stay with dslr, should i go mirrorless, or whatever, i have honestly no clue. i have a nikon d700 at the moment, which i have used primarily for stills, and now that i need to shoot a few vids, obviously since the d700 has no video function, i need to sell it and get something else. i have a few nice lenses, nikon 50mm, 70-200, 24 1.4, and a schneider 90mm, so i do have some investment in lenses in the f mount, which i guess i could sell to buy into something else, but obviously id probably rather keep my lenses, as it just easier. and id prefer to keep my lenses because i do still need to shoot stills. so, if you were me, what would you do? the options as i see it are: 1) sell d700 and buy a d750 or some other nikon body 2) sell d700 and lenses and then buy some other system 3) keep the d700 for stills and just buy something different altogether for video, a sony a7r, or a g4 or something else (i have no idea tbh) 4) sell d700 and get a a7r and an adapter for my lenses .... so, as you can see im in a bit of a pickle with how to proceed, so if you can give me some ideas, that would be great. also just for fun, lets pretend i didnt currently have a d700, or any lenses, and i wanted to buy some stuff for video, if you were going to spend $3000 ish on a new setup for video, what would you choose and why? ps i have some lights already, well, i have some studio strobes that i think can double as constant lighting, so just camera only please. Thanks. ps thanks !!!

I recently shot a music video with the GH4(in 4k) and GH2(1080) all the footage looks really good in preview playback but I notice a Gamma change with the .mov GH4 files if I open in FCP or VLC? I've had this problem with RED files and I just continued editing with the darkened gamma change because the files seem to correct themselves upon export. With that said I have a couple questions with how I should continue with this project or if there is a better way. My workflow plan right now is to Transcode first all of AVCHD GH2 files with 5dToRGB to PRORES 422HQ After that I'll import the PRORES files into FCP and drag a clip to the timeline and match the sequence settings to the clip because the final deliverable will be in 1080. My question is with the 4k footage and if this workflow makes sense? Should I import the .mov files directly into the 1080 sequence? or should I transcode the .mov files to 4K PRORES? I know importing the .mov files will slow me down because I'll have to constantly render but I don't want to lose image quality in conversion. My concern is the gamma will change and I wont know the true image quality until after I export. I just want to keep the images looking like they are. What would be some of your workflows when working with the same type media?

Hey, Was wondering if anyone could give me a hand with this. I am totally new to this topic, I know absolutely nothing about it. I work for a local movie theater, and they had an old projector upstairs, with this lens attached to it. The manager said I could take it, so I figured I'd post online to find out more about it, and maybe see if it's worth anything. I had troubles uploading the pictures directly, so I hope linking is okay on this site. Lens is in good condition, just needs to be cleaned up. Hasn't been used in years. Thanks in advance. http://tinypic.com/r/2d94izn/8 http://tinypic.com/r/c3xja/8 http://tinypic.com/r/mv46zb/8 http://tinypic.com/r/w811jn/8

Hi, I'm new to this forum, after a while of reading I decided to put my first post. I have always worked with the Canon 60D, and premiere pro CS6/CC. Now I bought Panasonic GH4 and i'm a little lost with the workflow. My PC: i7 3930k Asus P9x79 WS GTX 670 2GB 32GB RAM 1600 Storage: C: 256GB Samsung 840 PRO (Os / App) D: 2x Caviar Black 1TB RAID 0 (Media / Projects) E: Caviar Black 1TB (Export ) F: 256GB Samsung 840 PRO (Media Cache) G:Caviar Green 1TB (D: Backups) H Caviar Green 500GB (Music, movies, etc.) Dell U3014 I tried to work with 24p Cinema 4k. Goes well, but applying any effect, it is very slow. When I export to h.264 4k 24p, takes a long time, the CPU goes only to 27% and the RAM to 11GB ... I do not know why not use more. Here are my questions: 1. Which would be the best workflow for working with 4K files? Proress, DNxHD ...? Proxies? The final product will almost always exported at 1080p, only in some cases to 4k for now. So if there are two workflows would seem interesting to me also. 2. After the editing, workflow to move to color grading in Resolve? 3. Better combination for external backups? Any other advice will be of great help. Excuse my English. Thanks

Hey all I own a Nikon D5300 and I am looking to purchase a shotgun mic for some run and gun stuff. My question is since it doesn't have a headphone jack which Rode videomic should I get so that I can plug in my headphones and mic with an adapter. at 1:04 he explains the use of a splitter so he can use his headphones with it. So what Rode mics have a removable cable from the mic itself?

Hi guys, Long time reader, first time poster. I have a small production company, we shoot some studio stuff weekly, and venture out making some comedy sketches, and soon we hope to be doing some slightly heavier drama. we always strive to make our stuff look great, but we're a small run-and-gun team. We work out of backpacks with mostly handheld kit. We need a new camera. One we can sync our H6N into, use in the studio with our Autocue, our Stedicam and take out on shoots. We've narrowed it down to the 700D(T5i), the GH2/3 (? same ?) and the A57. Can you offer any advice? Important factors are : Form factor Ease of use and battery life FPS Lens availability usability (Focus peaking would be nice...) Thank in advance - and before I'm lambasted I know this will have been asked a hundred times, but trawling though all the posts will take an age....

Hey guys, To start things of im a real noob to DSLR filmaking and im filming longboarding. Longboarding consists of really fast movement and i cant find the right settings for capturing this action. The camera i have is a NIKON D5100. I have it set to manual and i just want to know: The perfect shutter speed if im filming a 1920x1080 24fps and when i put it to 1/50 it tends to blur the movement. The right aperture. the right iso and exposure. Im mainly filming through cloudy over cast scenes. And as well sunny.

Hello all, i have been doing wildlife / birding photography for a few years now and i have always wanted to experiment with video and install magic lantern on my 5D II but have never gone ahead and done it, but i just picked up the 50D because of the possibilites of the raw video recording (and i needed to replace my old and beaten up 40D). Anyways i really would love to get into film making, especially wildlife filming, but i don't know ANYTHING about the basics of filming. I am wondering if there is a good guide anywhere out there. I will be using the 5D II or 50D (preferably the 50D because i use the 5D II for photography jobs). Also does anyone have any good videos of nature or wildlife videos? I'm guessing landscape shots can make a popular subject, is anyone doing wildlife or birds?
