  1. I've just picked up a new Sony A5100 (for US$330, a great Black Friday deal!) and want to use my Nikon F mount lenses on it. What is the best Metabones focal reducer clone for Nikon G to Sony E mount? Is it the Mitakon Lens Turbo II? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mitakon-Lens-Turbo-Focal-II-Reducer-Adapter-Nikon-F-ai-s-Sony-NEX-VG-camera-/171320696417 Or would the much cheaper jinfinance be just as good? http://www.ebay.com/itm/new-Nikon-F-G-focal-reducer-speed-booster-adapter-to-Sony-NEX-5-6-7-FS700-FS100-/360707999952
  2. The buskers around Shinjuku station, Tokyo, shot on an E-M5. On the wide shots the codec craps out completely, but the medium shots with some subject separation it looks OK. Terrific fun to shoot with. I might trade it in for an E-M1 regardless of what happens with rumoured firmware, just for the extra mbps. I finally worked out how to set the IS focal length correctly when using a focal reducer. I still can't get film grain to look any good after it's gone through the vimeo upload process though. This was a large prores proxy file, and in most of the shots it looks like mud.
  3. Comparing the complete set of Rokinon cine-style lenses at 4K
  4. Testing the sharpness of the Rokinon Cine 85mm with Lens Turbo on the Pansonic GH4
  5. Hi, I have a Zhongyi Lens Turbo that fits fine on my Panasonic G6, but I recently noticed that it doesn't attach to my neglected Olympus OM-D E-M5. It will sit flush in the mount, but then you can't turn it at all to lock it in place, not even a fraction of a mm. I think i've probably had the Lens Turbo a little too long to return now. It didn't occur to me to test it on the E-M5, as I've been shooting so much with the G6, and it worked fine on that. Has anyone ever experienced anything like this either with a Lens Turbo, or with other adaptors or lenses? Should I try to force it? File something down?? Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
  6. Ok, so after receiving my adaptor a few weeks ago... I've created an unscientific review of the Lens Turbo for Canon FD on my nex 7 http://themartist.com/lens-turbo-canon-fd-review/   If you don't feel like reading the review, the bottom line is I am happy with it... even though It appears that those with more pixel peeping prowess are confirming that its inferior to the speedbooster. I still see many advantages using it for stills,  but I'm sure that the benefits may be even more useful for video purposes. This bring me to two main questions.   1. If there are any specific shots, or methods you'd like me to test either stills or video on the Lens Turbo - please let me know and I'll do my best. I have a canon fd 50mm 1.4 and 20mm 2.8 for the lens turbo.    2. What positive/negative impact will the speedbooster or lens turbo have on going the anamorphic route? What type of setup would be best, and how would one be able to have a nice compact (ish) setup to match the Nex's diminutive benefits. The dream is having an affordable small full-frame in the nex that is easy to travel with and may shoot some awesome anamorphic footage.    Appreciate any input or questions from either Andrew or the rest of you guys.
