I was curious why daylight and tungsten was easier to deal with, especially for skin tones. Looking at the spectral distribution of light, tungsten and real daylight provide a continuous spectrum of light, while fluorescent/CFL produce highly spiked light- not continuous. The good news is that the latest LED lights come very close to tungsten/daylight for continuous spectral light. I've got some low-cost CFLs in 2x3 and 2x2 light rigs: I'm going to replace the CFLs with LED bulbs at around 5000K (probably Cree- thanks for the tip FilmMan!) to match the other ~5000K LED lights I use (currently Z96, YN300, YN600, and F&V R-300). An LED spot in a clamp-on work light will also be handy. http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~zhuxj/astro/html/spectrometer.html http://www.popularmechanics.com/technology/gadgets/tests/incandescent-vs-compact-fluorescent-vs-led-ultimate-light-bulb-test#slide-1 (see the spectral charts) (CFL can work OK, but I had to use a tuned camera color profile and make sure WB was set carefully, otherwise trying to fix in post was time consuming).

I'm looking for reviews and comparisons of quality and functionality among the many different brands of 2x squeeze anamorphic lenses on the market. I am aware of the LOMO, Kowa Prominar / Kowa Bell & Howell etc... that are listed in the 'Anamorphic Shooters Guide' but was wonering from your experience and research what brand of 2x lens is the best value for money. Thanks.

Hi, I have a question about GH4. it can record 4k@25-29fps with an average of 70-90mbs according to my test, does it mean that 25fps mode has better quality than 29,97 ? Less frames so better quality per frame as it's the same data rate per second for the two settings ?

Hi, I have kind of problem with my video, I think. It's hard to describe it, so watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mhLb2VCYUak and this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XCwKMco1VMo I think the video quality is terrible. I used auto focus but then I tune the focus by my hand because I know the auto focus is not very good. So I think the problem must be somewhere else. I have only kit lenses, that means the 18-55mm and 50mm f1.8. The first video was shot with the 18-55mm and the second with 50mm. I really don't know what to do with this. Can anyone help me please? Thank you in advance and sorry for my English.

Hi! Can someone confirm if the image quality recorded OUT TO MXF is the SAME or not when using these two different modes? - Only MXF internalrecording to CF (1920x1080 8-bit 4:2:2) - 2K priority mode enabled, 1920x1080 output selected AND recording to MXF internally to CF. I am obligued to activate 2K priority in order to have the 2x MON outputs enabled (not active on "only MXF), but read somewhere that the resulting MXF signal recorded internally is derived from the 2K/HD output, whereas if using the "only MXF"mode, the signal bypass one process (Sensor->MXF vs Sensor>2K/HD>MXF). Is that right? Thanks Luis
