I’ve been keeping an eye on what JVC are doing with their quick Falconbird processor lately but it seems their strategy is a complete mess to me.Read full article
Tzedekh
This is virtually the same camera as the prototype shown at the 2011 CES and rumored to be projected to sell for about $2K ("Meet the prosumer camcorder which is 4K for $2K"). At that price it would have been a no-brainer.
moebius22
I hope it starts a trend. If only to see all those Scarlet owners squirm.
markm
All good points Andrew. For me its usefulness would be in possible advantages for colour correction when down rezzing to HD which the red does so well. But with all its negatives I can't see a use for it. Josh
I'd still like to see some footage out of this thing.

Wait until you see the prices of the first 50 inch 4K TVs.
FilmMan
Don't forget that JVC will be putting out a "professional" 4k version with interchangeable lenses.
MatthewP
Hehe, in the article you said... "It [4k] may even give you eye fatigue like 3D does." Which made me laugh. Everyone knows that nothing gives you eye fatigue like looking at bushes rustle in the breeze all day. One's retinas just can't cope with all the detail. :P So of course 4k is going to give you a headache!
