Panasonic talk hacking, committed to video on cutting edge GH3

The GH2 is the only true hybrid video DSLR. Video on all other DSLRs is an add-on but on the GH2 it is a core feature. It is an approach Canon will eventually take with the 4K Cinema EOS DSLR in what is going to be a very exciting 2012 – hopefully it will have an EVF and you can pluck stills from the 4K video stream. But the GH2 is currently the trail blazer in video.

That 4K camera is probably out of my price range +4k. I love that Gh2 image, but I really don't want to invest a lot of money in mirco four thirds, when what I really want is that new full frame Mark III. Still on the fence.

1080p50, better low light (clean 6400/usable 12,800), flat profile, more rugged/weatherproof body, maybe a stop more DR all would b nice from the GH3. Un-bugged 422 via HDMI aswell b nice then Panny dont have to make an AF100 sucessor ;).

While they no doubt need to support AVCHD, there's nothing to stop them from adding the option for other formats with higher bitrates.  (Well, nothing other than the marketing department.)
