andy lee
for some reason Magic Lanten where not there.......... data rates on some of these cameras is now getting huge F65 is 7gig a second off the sensor - compressed down to 2 gig a second so they can store it. Sony did a series of lectures on the F65 and F55 which where very informative. just the cards for the cameras are 2500 pounds each .....if you actually want to use a card..... F55 was very nice and has an Arri Alexa style to it plus modular add on drive and battery at the back. OLED viewfinders too - very very clear and nice to use. FilmMan
Andy, Did you check out Canon's 1DC?
andy lee
Yes there was one on the stand but it had no card in it so I cant say much about it None of the Canon Cameras on display had cards in them !! I did put my own card in the Panasonic GH3 and record .mov at 75 mb/s and it does look good - but all the picture profiles a bright saturated Canon style looking colours. I shot on 'Standard' The files open and play in Quicktime - the camera menu actually says .mov 75mb/s or Avchd 24 mb/s Panasonic have been good labeling the codecs up so you can see EXACTLY what you are shooting you even get a 'warning box' saying you will need a fast computor!!! so you dont need VLC for .mts files like on the GH2 Gone are 'Smooth' and 'Nostalgic' PICTURE PROFILES off the GH2 - the 2 I use all the time!! .....oh well!! I honestly now think the GH2 looks better having now shot on the GH3 changing the sensor on the GH3 has altered the look and feel of the camera it is alot more 'Canon' like now which Im sure is what Panasonic want for future mass market sales. ......but a hacked GH2 is a great camera for the money!!
