Nice! I totally screwed up. Selected timelapse photography instead of interval shooting on my Nikon and got a 20 MB mov file instead of 20 GB worth of raw. Reaaaallyyyy frustrating, the night was absolutely stellar.

 

Photos turned out a bit nicer, though:

Very nice! I did one too with my LX100. Would have liked to use my other camera with the 80-200 but had no equipment to track it as it orbited. 

How is this moving horizontally?  Anyway, it seems to be moving at a steady rate, so I presume you could keyframe the ends to keep the moon stationary. And if you then zoom in, you should get a steady moon with a cool growing shadow.

pure coincidence that I angled the camera in such a way that the moon passed by completely horizontally!

Yeh that's a good idea but I have no idea how to pull it off. Any tips?
