Sekhar
Guys, I was asked if I can cover a 3 hour indoor stage event shoot. It has a series of performances, each separated by a brief (1/2-1 min typically) breaks, but is otherwise continuous. Is it possible to cover this with NX1, stopping/starting during the breaks? I also have NX500 that I'll use as second camera. Marco Tecno
NX1user
I'm don't think one battery would do that. Two would cover that amount of time though.Or if you had one of the cellphone battery extender things, you could plug it into the NX1 USB port to get longer running time. Sekhar
Thanks, I actually have the vertical grip with the second battery and a 256GB card, so neither of them should be an issue. I'm mainly concerned about heating (I will be recording in 4K). I'm going to run a little experiment today running it for 3 hours with brief breaks every 1/2 hour, I'll post back what I find. NX1user
Please do. I've only run mine for 15-20 minutes at a time, but it's never even felt warm.
Sekhar
OK, I tested the camera, shooting non-stop for 3 hours, immediately restarting every 1/2 hour with each time limit. Quite amazingly, the camera showed zero signs of problems (was barely warm) and probably could have gone indefinitely. Also, you can use the USB cable for power if you need. Bottom line, NX1 should work fine for arbitrarily long shoots. Xavier Plagaro Mussard, iamoui, Marco Tecno and 1 other

Brother
A late response but i shot a wedding this summer on the NX1 with a 12.000 mAh USB battery. No problems what so ever during the 7 hour shoot and the battery lasted all day. iamoui, IronFilm and Marco Tecno
TILT
Same here. I shot a lengthy 5 hours of interview (in 4K) with a 16,000 mAh powerbank. I only had a few seconds break to swap the SD Cards once full. It's a shame we are limited to 30mins. IronFilm
IronFilm
I thought a recent firmware update for the NX1 allowed it to automatically restart every 30 minutes?
ricardo_sousa11
I used my NX1 for a full day (10h) of wedding with 1 battery and 2 powerbanks, even though I dont feel safe using the battery so much, it behaved perfectly.
