QuickHitRecord
A little off topic maybe - i'm also looking for a monitor for anamorphic video - but is there a monitor that supports luts? Im getting a little tired of watching everything in cinestyle/filmmode etc. Look at the SmallHD DP7 (which is expensive), and possibly the Convergent Design Odyssey7Q (also pricey). yannis.zach
If anyone interested, I have my ZACUTO EVF set for sale
au8ust
Just want to update about the the NEWAY CL76HO-X. Although it has custom aspect ratio settings, but the settings are very limited and couldn't enable 2x desqueezed images. I have the Zacuto EVF Pro which is great but the screen is too small for anamorphic viewing :/
tommykristensen
I got a message from smallHD today, where they informed me, that within a weeks time - they would send out an update for the DP7 that gave support for custom 3D luts... raf702
I'd rather post here then make a thread. But I just got my Cineroid evf4css, and I'm shooting with a 1.33x anamorphot. Anyone know what to adjust the anamorphic settings to? It shows 1.000 then counts down not up.
Lucian
Not sure if this was mentioned already, but I've found when using monitors that allow adjusting for anamorphic stretch, that I actually end up going back to squashed in order retain the extra resolution for focusing. raf702
I see, well in my case I want to see that it works as advertised, and as it shows in the menu. I spent a good chunk of money on this evf, and I expect it to function as needed. I'm beginning to wonder if the DP4 would do me better. Only issue is that I'll have to get an HDMI-SDI converter to run this with my BMCC. But I don't want to have to go this route.
Rob Bannister
If its counting down try dividing 1 by the stretch value by 1. ie: 1/1.33 = 0.7519 1/1.5 = 0.6667 1/2 = 0.5 Rob

I'll have to try this when I get home, and I'll post pictures too.
raf702
I was able to get it working. I had to go into the 1080i mode and make the adjustments and it worked.
Rob Bannister
Nice, did the values match up or was it still up to guessing?
raf702
Values were close enough, but I ended up setting it to the maximum of .800. Which looks perfect for 1.33x to 2x viewing.
QuickHitRecord
Have any other options become available since the last posts? I'm still using my AC7 which is great, but it's huge on my 5D3 and goes through my batteries pretty fast. I can also confirm that there is no anamorphic monitoring on the Ninja Blade. I've emailed them to see if they could include this in the next firmware update. EDIT: Atomos just responded: I'm not aware of any plans to implement this feature, but I can definitely pass it on as a feature request. I can definitely see how this would be useful... I'll log it and we'll discuss it in our next meeting. Julian
QuickHitRecord
Here's a nice entry-level monitor that has a nice de-squeeze for 1.5x lenses (or 2x with Magic Lantern at 4:3):
Justyn Rowe
Unfortunately the GH4 as of the new update doesn't export out through the HDMI in the Anamorphic mode. I hope they fix this in the next firmware and add V-log

I hope they fix this in the next firmware and add V-log You must set the camera to 10bit to enable 4:3 over HDMI whitch disables internal recording. At the moment Atomos Shogun is the only way to go with the GH4.
