CKheat
Hi I'd just like to ask what is the widest taking lens you can pair with a S35 sensor and the Kowa 16H/B&H 2x Anamorphic? I was thinking of getting a 40mm (pentax) or 45 pancake (zeiss Y/C). Will these focal lengths / lenses vignette with the Kowa 16H/B&H?Thanks
Tito Ferradans
It depends on what you want for your final aspect ratio. If you want the entire 3.56:1 frame, then a 50 would do. If you just need a 2.4:1 crop, you could go around 35, I guess.
CKheat
I should have specified further. For example, URSA mini shooting anamorphic 3072 x 2560 (1:2) then unsqueezing for 2.4:1. Thanks
Caleb Genheimer
I use a 40mm on NX1 for 2.40 ratio. It's the widest I've found that still covers nicely.

Caleb Genheimer
I use a Konica Hexanon f1.8. It is not a great lens on its own, but it is a pancake with very simple optics, which yields great results with the Kowa if stopped down to f4. I'm looking at getting the Voigtlander 40mm f2 pancake as an upgrade, but I just spent a lot on the rangefinder so it'll have to wait a bit. Here is my first video with the rangefinder on my Kowa/Konica setup: https://vimeo.com/142703300
