Very odd problem playing H.265 files

I have a powerful PC (i7-5820K clocked at 4.4ghz, 16GB of memory at 2666Mhz). I used to have ZERO problems playing H.265 files till...I changed my GPU!

I stepped from an old AMD 6970 to the new AMD Fury. This should hw decode H.265. Since then, my files play very bad, "choppily".

I'm using: MPC-HC 64 and VLC. Same problem with both!

Any hint??? How do I disable hw decoding and come back to CPU only decoding?

For MPC-HC, View -> Options -> Internal Filters -> Video Decoder (button near bottom of window) -> Disable 'HEVC' in the 'Hardware Acceleration' section maybe ?

(HEVC = H.265)
