Ramiro Bruzzese
Hi! I've just got my new sony a7s II yesterday. Took it out of the box and realized it had some problem with the SS dial.Rear dial is not working properly. It is stuck between 2 adjacent settings. So no matter which way I move it shuter speed goes 1/160 1/200 1/160 1/200.. I have tried to reset camera settings and I didn't work. Still the same problem. Any advice please? Anyone having the same issue?

liork
Why not take it to the store? Looks like a hardware problem.
Ramiro Bruzzese
Yes, I will. But the thing is that I live in Argentina and the warranty wont cover the repair here. So.. I guess I'll have to wait till I go back to the US.

blafarm
Have you tried resetting the camera? There are two options:Menu > Page 6 > Toolbox Icon > Setting Reset > Camera Settings Reset (Initializes the main shooting settings to the default settings)Menu > Page 6 > Toolbox Icon > Setting Reset > Initialize (Initializes all the settings to the default settings). colinfongnet
This just happened to me last night,I placed my camera straight up towards the sky, to try and take a photo of the stars, and afterwards found it had the exact same problem of rear dial only moving between two shutter speed values. A lot of stress later, and almost a booking for repairs, I did the same thing and pointed the camera up to the roof, left it for a few seconds. The problem fixed itself. Try that? fingers crossed. Pretty poor form Sony... especially for such an expensive camera.
