Administrators Andrew Reid Posted January 1, 2016 Administrators Share Posted January 1, 2016 Thanks for share this excellent just for fun shootout.I was wondering it the difference in color rendition between the BMPCC and Digital Bolex is due mostly to the CMOS vs CCD or ProRes vs Raw? Maybe a little of both I imagine...Like Mattias said, he's right the sensor is what makes the difference between those two.CMOS has a 'clearer' more modern look than CCD, which looks more analogue and more like a film stock.The Ikonoskop shared the same Kodak CCD as the Digital Bolex and I found the look differed a lot from the Blackmagic CMOS as well Mattias Burling 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

In your example, I would pick the BMCC as it has a little more dynamic range, where in Mattias' example I would pick the Digital Bolex for color and motion cadence.
