Timotheus
http://www.hifinesse.be/wfi-761672.html (in Dutch, sorry). They also have a NX500 with kitlens for 449. Only seller yet with these prices though. With all the love going around here for this somewhat tragic camera, I thought I'd mention this as an indication where prices may be going. Looks like patience is paying off for potential buyers, at least in the regions where Samsung announnced discontinuation. Super Members Mattias Burling Posted January 7, 2016 Super Members Share Posted January 7, 2016 I just had a quick look among the classifieds. DBounce
It's a great deal, but there's little point to buying into a dead system imo.
Cinegain
True that.Unless you can get one with the S lenses... say get the body w/ S lens kit for 1000. It's still a great camera with awesome image and features. And that autofocus, right? You could even make it your dedicated gimbal cam.But. I could imagine that in two years, or perhaps just one already, this is behind the curve and you're looking to upgrade to stuff with much better lowlight performance and dynamic range. What are you going to upgrade to? No more Samsung... And until then? You're relying on dummy adapters and adapted lenses? If you did go for electronic native lenses, then suddenly they're worthless to you on another system. It's not a choice anybody would lightly take right now... Administrators Andrew Reid Posted January 7, 2016 Administrators Share Posted January 7, 2016 No way the S lenses are coming down so that you can get an NX1 and 16-50 F2 for under 1000.That lens is seriously good quality. They have it reduced to 899, a good deal. Same as I paid for my ex-demo in berlinhttp://www.hifinesse.be/foto-en-video/lenzen/samsung-s1650asb.htmlThis is the best lens for the system. Cinegain
Can't see anything saying that they actually ship internationally. Could be the case that they will, but you will have to check by contacting them.Just keep an eye on: http://tweakers.net/pricewatch/zoeken/?keyword=nx1+s & http://geizhals.eu/?fs=nx1&in= , maybe more will follow. There were some dirt cheap in Switzerland... https://www.toppreise.ch/prod_388442.html .https://www.digitec.ch/de/s1/product/samsung-nx1-body-schwarz-28mp-fotokamera-2759475 & https://www.galaxus.ch/de/s1/product/samsung-nx1-body-schwarz-28mp-fotokamera-2759475 for 668 CHF ~> 615 EUR ~> 670 USD.But the Swiss have a different policy concerning import/export/tax, so no shipments internationally. But if you fancy a trip up there/down there... With a lot of difficulties I'd probably be able to score one... but I think it's pretty useless without the kit lens Andrew mentions anyways. Before I had an understanding with a shop that I could get a kit for 1299. But when finalizing the paperwork the employee got told that this was an error and the actual price had to be 1899. For that, you can get it anywhere now, so I'm not tempted unless it goes significantly down. And even then, now there are other fish to fry. Ricardo Constantino
Yeah I talked with Digitec they only do nacional shipping but I have a friend living there so I'll probably ask him to ship me one since it's the best price in Europe! "but I think it's pretty useless without the kit lens Andrew mentions anyways"I'm not gonna buy any NX or S lenses only Nikon (because of the aperture control) is it bad? Cinegain
It's not bad at all if you're okay with all manual use. Personally, I wouldn't be. The advantage to me is the system with the premium S lenses (C-AF, hybrid use). Without it, I'd actually rather get a Sony. Except for the fact that there's only expensive fullframe 4K Sony cameras... for now...

But be careful, Switzerland is not European Union so you have to pay at least VAT upon import... but then even with the 19% VAT in Germany it's still cheaper than buying locally. sandro
funny how instead the 18-200 lens is the most expensive in EU.
JurijTurnsek
It's a great deal, but there's little point to buying into a dead system imo.For that price it is quite worth it. If you shoot video, chances are you are going to use adapters to adapt let's say Samyang's EF Cine lenses that you can then use on the next system you migrate to. 4K should last you 6-8 years at least, unless you need higher frame-rates. All of the other specs are top notch and will remain very good for a long while.
Phil A
It's a great deal, but there's little point to buying into a dead system imo.I'd agree if you want a hybrid system like discussed in the other thread but if you want to use the body for video with adapted glass (or are cool with shooting stills with manual focus), I think the NX1 is a great thing. After all the BMPCC is really popular and that is even less "system" for 990€. teddoman

M Carter
It's a really gorgeous image with and adapter and quality glass. Prices still back to intro-era in the US as of today. Body only now is $100 more than I paid for body with the (really kickass) little wide zoom a few weeks ago. Keeping an eye out...NX glass is now officially a little more risky, unless your purchase can pay for itself quickly and serve you for a few years. I shoot weekly with Nikkors I've owned since the 1980's/90's, so the NX lenses I'd like (the S zoom and the 85, maybe a 2.8 pancake for handheld or steadicam) are a tough sell after today's news. But funny, 6 months ago, I didn't even give AF a thought for motion work, and now I'm using the little kit lens wide-open for handheld and faux-steadicam work. Never imagined video AF could have a place in my workday, so… I'll keep my eye on lens prices.
caseywilsondp
This is interesting to see, Amazon has raised the prices considerably since the holidays. I bought nx1/16-50S for $1950 from Amazon in mid December, and now the same package is $2800. Marco Tecno and sandro
