zerocool22
They do look razor sharp, but they kinda have that blue flare going on, any others recommendations?
Ian Edward Weir
Marumi 77mm 77 DHG Macro +3 330 Achromat Achromatic Close up Lens. Super sharp and very nice quality. If you want to have a nice close up. I use it with Baby Hypergonar in picture below. http://www.amazon.com/Marumi-Macro-Achromat-Achromatic-Filter/dp/B003VHN1SC
zerocool22
Thanks, is the +3 not a bit excessive? as the tokina 72mm is only +0.4? How well would this match up with a 2X anamorphot(kowa bell howell + taking lens canon 100mm f2.0)?
Ian Edward Weir
You said 77mm. The Tokina 72mm is amazing and worth the money for a great low power diopter. I own a +0.25, +0.4, +1, +2.6, +3 and +10. They all have different purposes. You should do yourself a favoir and save money by getting a Rectilux Core DNA variable diopter or SRL Magic Rangefinder. Then you would only need +2 or higher for closeups or macro. The more you put in front of a 2x anamorphic, the longer your taking lens will need to be to avoid vignetting. Thuy Pham
anyone have experience w Canon 500D? I have a Century 1.33x anamorphic mounted in front of Canon 24-105. I put a vintage Canon 72mm diopter in front and theres a vignetting wider than 35mm. Would 77mm diopter be different? Without the diopter at 24mm theres a small vignette but at 35mm no vignette

I've been using one for a very long time for my extreme closeups. It's a +2 achromat, and quality is great.
zerocool22
What about the kood diopters, are they good? I cannot seem to find any review on them. http://www.benl.ebay.be/itm/KOOD-77MM-CLOSE-UP-LENS-SET-OF-4-CASE-1-2-4-10-DIOPTER-CLOSE-UP-LENSES-/191425900279?hash=item2c91df6ef7:g:6T4AAOSwiCRUdHKf
