Inazuma
The lx100 has a 24-75mm equiv with same aperture and bigger sensor though

Dean
Looks OK. I hope the Dual Detect Optical VR works in 4K mode. B&H specs say the 24-85 has a built in ND but I'm sure I read on DPR that the 24-85 doesn't have a built in ND. Has a 40.5mm front thread. Be nice if it has the Nikon Flat profile too. Looks like the sort of camera I'd buy at fist glance http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1234163-REG/nikon_26511_dl24_85_f_1_8_2_8_digital_camera.html
Flynn
They claim the stabilization is good for five stops- I'm guessing it will work with video as well? Interested to see how good the autofocus is.
Nikkor
For 50€ I would buy it :D
BrorSvensson
disapointed that there are no viewfinder in a "premium" compact. Cinegain

mercer
Looks interesting. But according to the specs on BH, it only shoots UHD 30p. Hopefully, it's just preliminary and updated specs will include 24p.
The Chris
Basically a fixed lens version of the Nikon 1. Given the success of the RX100/RX10 I'm surprised it took Nikon this long to bring these to market. The Nikon 1's AF is flat out amazing, I would expect this to easily outperform the LX100 and Sony's RX. 3.5mm audio input too, nice.
Administrators Andrew Reid Posted February 23, 2016 Administrators Share Posted February 23, 2016 Nikon state 45 min battery life when recording video on the smaller DLs. Better carry some spares They shoot 30p and 25p. http://www.eoshd.com/2016/02/nikon-launch-affordable-super-16mm-4k-cameras-with-fast-lenses-starting-at-649/ No mention of 24p, which is odd. DL24-85 has built in ND filter. Not sure about the ultra wide 18-50?

Administrators Andrew Reid Posted February 23, 2016 Administrators Share Posted February 23, 2016 Wonder if this will finally force Canon to get their act together?
ImagineArt
Mirrorless, Oled screen, 4k, 1080p slow motion....maybe Samsung did sell some tech Nikon's way? MattH
Administrators Andrew Reid Posted February 23, 2016 Administrators Share Posted February 23, 2016 Well not the sensor, it's a Sony. The OLED will be either LG or Samsung I think. And it isn't a mirrorless camera, it is fixed lens. Nice try ImagineArt
Super Members Mattias Burling Posted February 23, 2016 Super Members Share Posted February 23, 2016 Canon reacting in any major way? Not likely imo, for fun I just checked current sales here. Their 5Dmkiii is only $300 dollars cheaper than the 4 YEARS younger A7sii. Its $1000 more expensive than the NX1 + 16-50 S Combo. But still outselling both of them. If I was a major shareholder in Canon I would say, don't do anything. Just wait until its really needed. It would be cool, but I doubt they will do anything revolutionary. Some C-Log in rebels or 5Div would be lovely though. Cinegain and Nikkor
