jgharding
I came to post that I'd like an XC10 update with a few missing features, and that it's a rumor. It' a great little camera if a little fiddly. The AF is sluggish though. I think a C100 MKiii is coming with 4K.
Jimmy
I wonder what people would prefer for a C100 III: 1) Current sensor with 4K / 4:2:0 2) C300II sensor that does 1080p /4:2:2 I think I would prefer the latter and kind of hope that is how Canon separates them... Unlikely though. Flynn

Unlikely though. I would love to see: Improved Canon XC10 body (like an XC1 or something). EF mount. Super 35mm sensor. 1080p 10 bit 422. 120FPS HD. SOLD!! Jimmy
Sounds great! I really want a piece of that C300II sensor, would happily trade resolution in for a small body and lower price and it is product separation that actually sits ok with me... Keep the image quality consistent, and separate the models by resolution, framerate etc (a bit like RED do).

But then chances are Canon would price it in FS7 territory.
colorman
canon 5d mark IV , 4k raw dng , 14bit ... is that possible ? Flynn
Jed I. Clampett
I think what ever their surprise is? It will help put me to sleep at night. Likely the big surprise is a new name for the same camera. It will be expensive and for video compared to the competition useless, like all the camera introductions for the last 3 years. Not at NAB. Something like that would be more likely at Photokina.
Jimmy
Some people still held up on their Canon issues, I see.... In the last couple of years: Launched the first (and arguably still the best) 4K DSLR, the 1D-C. Created a near perfect AF system. Created a 14-15 stop 4K sensor for their C range. Launched the first 4K 60p DSLR. Created an ultra, ultra low light camera. Openly discussing 8K. We might not like the price of Canon's stuff... But it is hard to say that they are particularly boring.

User
I'd like to see 4k upgrade software made available (purchase or otherwise) for the C100 MkII. I'm curious if the current hardware could handle it?

For example, didn't mirrorless come out first with 4k 60p video?

(edit: sorry, missed the 4K part) 5DIII does not have RAW footage as part of it's native toolkit, that was added by amateurs hacking the camera. So it does not count since it is not something that Canon "gave" to us.

We've gotten great results with the GH4, A7S, A7SII, FS700. For stills, the 5D3 rocks, and for video the C300 II rules. Looking forward to the 1DX II and 5D4 and whatever Sony and Panasonic counter with. Competition is great!

Can a camera that only offers a EF or PL lens mount truly be considered mirrorless? True, there is no mirror, but if you throw away the possibility of short BFL optics what is the point?
