Inazuma
Hi everyone I'm in the market for a wireless lavalier system to use with my c100 mark ii. Here's my wishlist: Decent quality mics with unobtrusive, pocketable or clippable transceivers Two or more mic signals can be sent to one receiver. Range of at least 5 meters. The receiver can sit on top of my camera (c100 II) by the hotshoe or something. Plugs in to an XLR or 3.5mm jack. I have no idea how much such a thing should cost so I don't really have a budget in mind atm. Please just shoot me some recommendations
johnnyd
I've been using Sennheiser ew100 for quite a few years now and it has worked great so far. This is the combo that also has a transmitter for a handheld mic which is also useful in some situations although I haven't used it that much. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/618735-REG/Sennheiser_EW_100_ENG_G3_A_Evolution_G3_100_Series.html RodeLink seems also like a good option. It's cheaper but can't say much else about it since I haven't used it myself http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1115091-REG/rode_rodlnk_fm_rodelink_wireless_filmmaker_kit.html
The Chris
Been using the Sennheiser ew100 G3 for the last few years, got the lav, the handheld and the handheld adapter, all are great with the XLR plug or the 3.5mm straight into the cam. I love the rodelink, but others in this thread seem to be missing this stipulation. I also wish it could take two signals at once.
Inazuma
Indeed. What is the normal method then for video people getting two or more people mic'd wirelessly? Do they just keep adding more of these singular systems? Is there a way to get all the receivers to mix into one XLR or 3.5mm channel? The Chris
You need a dual channel system with a receiver that accepts two signals at the same time, sorry I missed that one as well. You have fewer options, this is what B&H carries: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?atclk=Receiver+Type_Dual-Channel&ci=15419&N=4291086004+4293345056 If you need more you'll need additional systems. When I shot news we had two of the Azdens on each camera, so 4 people could be mic'd up at the same time.
