SLR Magic 35mm T1.4 - Cheaper to import than to buy in UK?

Morning all

 

I am interested in the above lens to go with my Sony NEX 5N. I emailed slrmagic in Hong Kong abut price and they quoted in would cost $279 (normally $349 with $70 instant rebate) and this includes shipping. This cost is around £177 Pounds sterling

 

The only official UK reseller of this lens is ukdigital.co.uk and they have it listed priced at £299 with a £50 rebate meaning total price is still £250

 

So bar the risk of important taxes and duty am I not better off getting the lens from HK? I have used a simply import duty calculator and if I do have to pay (sometimes they slip through!) it would still only be arounf £45 which would still make the lens cheaper than if bought from the UK!

 

Anyone have an experience with import duties buying from SLR Magic in HK to the UK in the past?
