So it means that there is no need to buy expensive Cfast cards now, can wait for significant price reduction while still using existing CF cards. What about 120fps? No problems with CFs? It won't give the option to do high frame rates on CF in any of the menus
kgv5
Ohh, thanks for the info, it is strange, bitrate of 120fps 1080p should be lower than 4k60p so it should be able to write it to CF. Hmm..

This guy prefers the new Canon 1D X ii - than the Sony FS7! http://nofilmschool.com/2016/05/field-review-canon-eos-1d-x-mark-ii After reading the article in noticed his comments on rolling shutter Quote I was pleasantly surprised to see nearly no rolling shutter in our shots. This is due to a combination of the cameras dual processor and pixel-to-pixel read out for 4K, which really minimizes the dreaded rolling DSLR shutter effect prominent in other makes and models. RS has not really been a big concern for me in the past, but still nice to hear it is a non-issue with the 1DX Mkii.

Don't you own the camera? You can see for yourself. Too often reviewers use a camera like the a7rii in a real world test and say later "barely any rolling shutter at all!" It's possible.. and could be better than the 1dc, and it's not a huge concern of mine, but I wouldn't take that as gospel
DBounce
I do indeed own it, but have not yet tested this aspect of it. But now that it is on the radar I believe I will need to.
kgv5
DBounce, what about 1080p FF 24/25p mode? Is it any better than 5d3?

So i love that. What am still waiting for, 1DC vs 1DXII image comparison. PLEASE! I just want to own the 1D or just keep the 1Dc if the C-Log and image is generally noticeablly better. I'd love DPAF, 60P, 120P, 14fps stills, but would appreciate Zero sharpening (C Log) higher DR and more filmic image, plus 1080p s35 mode that's soringly sharp and colourful, plus no EU TAX rule time limit. Some body please test both so "d go with one and forget damn cameras for a while. My A camera will be 1D/X + Zucoto Loup + Zoom H4n givong XLRs and phantom power on the hot shoe (and real audio knobs) so not much different from a C100 audio set up on top. I can absolutely focus just fine without peaking so wi'l not bloat the package with an HDMI EVF/Monitor. Just seems like a wonderful kit for video shooting, and the 1dc gives you that s 35 1080p for weddings/docs that the 1dx does not. I do a lot of interviews and documentaries and cards can be a bigissue so having a c300 like 1080p C-log mode is very very handy at very low all-i bitrate. Jimmy
There are a few shots in the "Forest" clip that are plain beautiful, especially the CU of her hands touching the plants. Exciting camera.

sudopera
Judging only by all the videos linked on the forum, all the great things in the 1DX II image are unfortunately destroyed IMO by terrible and abrupt highlight clipping in high contrast situations. The one on that girl's hair looks especially ugly.

I hope people who already have it will experiment with tweaked camera profiles and show us the results C-Log is something we might not get here. IMO this camera would sing if it had C-log, the color and the detail are there, it just lacks that fine tonal transitions in highs and lows that 1Dc has. As things stand now, 1Dc image looks much better to me.

sudopera
This profile worked great for me back in the 5D mark II days, especially with Filmconvert. I don't know if its compatible with new Canon DSLR-s. http://www.vision-color.com/visioncolor-for-canon-eos/
