The only downside that I see is that it does not come with waterproof case like GoPro does (so the price is not that low). However, the original was hacked - maybe this one will be too.

Hope it gets hacked! Is what makes the original so strong a choice for 360VR. 

Hope they also keep on making the original, that way they're attacking both the high end of GoPros, and competing also with a second product at a very very low price.

GoPro is dying. I bet my money on Xiaomi on putting the Final nail on the coffin. Considering the abyssal level of innovator at GoPro, they probably deserve it. Sad for the investors and shareholders.

The GoPro seems to have a more Gradeable video, thanks probably to Protunes. But, the lack of stabilization is really disapointing.

I've to agree with sanveer, looks like the GoPro has to get some grading in post to look good. The Yi on the other side already looks good and is much more stable.

in reality most people who buy these cameras have no clue how to handle protune footage and they will just hear that its good then do nothing to it in post and it will look awful

The stabilization is nice...but the GoPro still appears to have greater dynamic range and more gradable color.
That still makes a HUGE difference if your footage needs to be cut against footage from other cameras.

If Xiaomi make a decent Log profile for the video (like Protunes), it will sell even more. Though, both of them don't have very sharp lenses, for stills.
