Unfortunately, Ebrahim, when you chose to steal from other people, you risked ruining your reputation.

I think this thread should remain on the forum, but locked, onced the matter is resolved. You are only refunding these people (if you actually do) because of the pressure brought upon you by this thread. If the OP had not started it, you might have been tempted to scam more people, given your previous success.

You are a criminal because you have stolen from (at least) three people and you are a liar because you have lied repeatedly and continuously. These are not desirable characteristics for a Dentist starting out on his career and now future employers will be able to see how untrustworthy you are.

You brought this upon yourself and risked a huge amount.

So, if he refunds the people he scammed, his wisdom of a filmmaker with decades of experience with all sorts of gear will not be put into question? Somehow, this seems like the bigger issue here, since this is a place for getting reliable advice.

That is one of the reasons why this thread should remain on the forum. So that in future his previous advice can be assessed in the light of this thread ie be treated as suspect.

I suggest to @Andrew Reid that he must keep this thread on the forum but lock it when ES has refunded the people he scammed. 

However I also suggest that Andrew writes a short summary on the first post that summarises this thread so people don't have to trawl through the endless pages to find the relevent points : ie

• Ebrahim Saadawi was accused by the OP of scamming him
• Two other people came forward to say that they had also been scammed by him
• After a lot of persuasion Ebrahim admitted to the scams and attempted to verify his identity
• Ebrahim also admitted to extensive lying about his circumstances and experience in cinematography and consequently all his advice should be treated as inaccurate and possibly misleading
• Ebrahim eventually refunded the three people he admitted to stealing from (Hopefully)
• Ebrahim has now been banned from the EOSHD forum (hopefully)

If Ebrahim is banned, then I think that will be shown on his status with every one of his previous posts so that will help alert future users to the unreliability of his advice.

THESE ARE THE CONDITIONS :

the thread stays open for the four people involved in this crime to communicate, it stays open to keep Ebrahim Sadaawi honest and full fill his promise to refund everyone involved ......eveyone one else back off and let them resolve this issue .

NO MORE POSTS on this thread from now on or we will delete them if you are not involued in this situation.

Ebrahim Sadaawi you keep in contact with Tim , Thomas and James who you have stolen money from , you stick to the plan to refund them , you keep in regular contact with them and let them know exactly what is happening no excuses and no stalling .

Tim, Thomas and James you keep in regular contact with Ebrahim Sadaawi and you can use this thread to keep us all informed how it is progressing .

If Ebrahim Sadaawi goes back on his word and starts stalling post on here and keep us informed what is going on .

To update:

No Stalling or delays. I just went and sent the SLR Rangefinder to Tomas Overtoom. And sent them proof in the PM. It'll be in his house in days/week. So it's done. Tim and Tomas promised before that if I sent it to any of them they'll both let this go and split the cost. I hope they stick and tell that to the moderator on this thread out of their good heart, as I just would not be able to refund Tim too, because I will gather James' money very difficultly as he agreed in one month time is small sums.  

Right now I'll work on gathering/refunding @JamesDrum money by the time he agreed upon and I gave legal written confirmation.

I've received a transport slip from Ebrahim. I'll keep you informed when it arrives and what the content is. If Tim and I can sell it for EU 500,- then we'll split the amount that covers our expenses.

If the RF can't be sold for 500,-, but less, then I suggest Ebrahim covers the missing amount to cover our expenses. I think that's fair. But I think we can sell it for 500,-.

Please note that Ebrahim clearly stated he would pay the second half over time. But as long as we're paid what we previously lost, we shall be flexible and realistic.

I hope you can sell it for that but I doubt it, it's a very specialised Item. Anyway I'd love that you would! BTW to give small details: I didn't send the box (I recieved it in a normal brown cartoon box with cut off foam, just that, and that little cartoon box is not where to be found in my house, so I put it in a any box I can find just to make sure it's safe. (It's a small white box, I think a box of a P&S camera or something) I hope the box wouldn't be a problem and that it arrives safely and fully functioning to you. It's truly mint condition and has zero scratches or any sort of wear. The glass is 100% clear and has no speck of dust. I have very little doubt anything would happen to it as it's simply a tank. A full metal housing.  It's a beautiful piece of optics.

I'm planning to sell this for EU 500 and split the amount with Tim, only because Ebrahim can't afford to repay us directly. This is a coulance/leniency, because we could've just forced him to repay us all. The extra tax will come out of his pocket. So no yapping here. Just stating facts. James, Tim and I are walking away without any loss. I'm just being clear about it upfront.

Thank you so much HelsinkiZim. I hope I do have a great future ahead of me, but to a degree I know I DO. It's just a very rough patch I am going through right now financially since I am trying to pay 300$ to someone and has many other life/college financial requirements so it's making things such an impossible task for a 21 year-old for me to take. 

I hope Tim and Tom will be satisfied in someway and forgive this when they receive the package. And on the other hand, on 4th of August (about a week from now) I will send my college money to James to make this right. 2000 EGP which should translate into 225$, and work to make the remaining 75$ I owe him in the time frame he's approved (til 15th of the month). And I hope this makes it all right and none of the three involved would be upset. You have no idea how much I went through and will go through just to make this right, it's SO much more than the stupid scam conducted or the pitiful money that came out of it. But I'll make it. No matter what it means, even if I pay them off my college money and drop off a semester and just graduate a year ahead of time. I'll go that far to make this right so no worries to the people involved please.
