Administrators Andrew Reid Posted February 8, 2013 Administrators Share Posted February 8, 2013 It certainly explains the dynamic range. Combining the two exposures at the earliest opportunity is very clever.
jcs
Right- and the fact that they got started by digitizing film and retaining the film look before creating a digital camera explains the 'Hollywood popular' image. jgharding
Administrators Andrew Reid Posted February 8, 2013 Administrators Share Posted February 8, 2013 I film look takes a lot of data. I think the compression required on DSLRs plus the fact that engineers think grain is a fault, makes for a very electronic looking image. jgharding
jgharding
Cheers for the link, it's great to see inside the Alexa! Iit's still my favorite image of all the high end so far (though I've not yet used or edited F65). They seem to capture such a nice overall "feel", rather than chase one aspect -- like resolution or dynamic range -- alone.
