Recommended 35mm taking lens for gh2 + Kowa 16h(8z)

Would you recommend me a good 35mm taking lens that can go wide open but still sharp enough for use with a Kowa 8z on a gh2.

What would be the sharpest lens possible for that combination?

What would be the best/reasonably cheap option?

Any recommendations accepted.

What hack would you use for sharpest image. Sedna Aq1?

Thanks!

Hi. I use a 37mm MIR-1B f2.8 with my Kowa 16-H (8Z is the same lens), and I love it. Very Russian, and a rectilinear flektagon copy, so it doesn't add any distortion to the image (keep in mind the Kowa still will, though).

I also use Sedna, but everyone has been praising Driftwood's new Moon GOP1 setting, so I'm switching to that. Some other former Sedna users really seem to like Moon and think it is similar but grades better. (Note: I haven't actually tried it yet.)

Andy,

You mention liking the Carl Zeiss Flektogon 35mm f2.4 lens as your taking lens for the Kowa 8z. What's the lens diamater of the Flektogon lens and how do you attach it to the Kowa 8z? Do you use a lens clamp (which kind) or direct attachment with step-up/down adaptors (which kind)?

Thanks!

Stefan

If you want "cheap", then

Mir-1b 37mm f2.8

Mir 24M 35mm f2 (this is by far the best of the cheap options & comes in M42 or Nikon mount - M or N)

Super Takumar 35mm f3.5

You can get these for under £100, apart from the Mir 24 which can vary & the M42 version is always over priced.
