mojo43
I am looking for ways to be able to rack focus on a gimbal without a huge expensive setup. Are there any good options out there?

Wouldn't be too hard to use with a gimbal at all. mojo43
tellure
Canon 70D with dual-pixel AF or Canon 6500? Touch screen to rack focus.
mojo43
Thanks for the replies... I guess there is no manual way of focusing. I can almost get away with focusing by hand on the gimbal, but maybe there is a tool that would make it lighter to the touch?
Kisaha
Already proposed the Aputure! Check it out, wireless control for relatively cheap
Cinegain
You could get a FocusShifter, if that's what you mean: http://focusshifter.com/follow-focus-dslr/ . But it's generally not a good idea to touch your camera and the lever will shift the center of gravity ever so slightly. Indeed as said, the Aputure DEC is a nice system, but restricts you to EF lenses for M43 cameras of course. Cheapest way: squeeze your aperture to create a plane sufficient enough to have some wiggle room on tracking your subject and just keep you focus fixed and stay a steady distance from your subject. You an increase/decrease your distance to create out of focus as a tool to reveal something for example. Or... switch to a Canon with dualpixel AF and enjoy continuous AF. Policar
DJI focus is very cheap. Above that it does get expensive.

Do you mean the Sony A6500? If you touch the screen lightly enough maybe you can change focus without shaking the camera
mojo43
Thanks for all of the replies. Really I just want to manually focus on the gimbal. I can almost do that now, but unfortunately I am not light enough on the touch. Focusing electronically would be ok I guess, but I much prefer another non-electronic way..
