Flynn
You have to put in the actual focal length of the lens for the stabilization to work correctly but since the anamorphic adapter would change the horizontal field of view, would that mess things up? Grimor
Sensor stabilization makes my anamorphic image "under drugs": Only if you can shoot on "vertical stabilization mode" like panoramic mode in some cameras could be usefull. Flynn
Thank you Grimor. There's no reason optical stabilization would be a problem though is there?
Grimor
Optical stabilization must be the same, but no as noticeable as sensor movements. Moving sensor when anamorphic is fixed, is identical to moving anamorphic atachment when sensor has no IBIS. Mesmerized effect. Grimor
I made a dirty test to show the issue. You can see the whoobling background when IBIS ON under heavy shake: (sorry for the flickering and those no profesional things) Flynn and Rudolf
valery akos
this problem occurs only with G80/G85... It's Pana's stabilazer that creates the problem....

It's makes no sense. The G80 stabilizer works superb! Whatever stabilizer that rotate the sensor behind a fixed anamorphic adapter will make the alignement changing, that result on "whoobling image". Rudolf
Grimor, thank you very much for your input! Very good to know. The footage looks like warp stabilizer... I was tempted to buy GH5 because of IBIS. But now I will rethink because I'd use it only for video with anamorphics. The GH4 with Lumix 35-100 F2.8 and Isco 36 seem to work well together. So I think the mesmerizer effect is only with IBIS... Grimor
Grimor
IBIS is a great improvement. But not usefull for anamorphic shooter. @Rudolf you are right about its like a warp stabilizer or youtube "auto stabilize" weird correction. If panasonic people can make a mode with only vertical stabilization (like the one in panoramic photo) would be great for our scopes.
