manueldomes
I'm a bit confused -- my GH5 should arrive in two or three days, but I can't seem to find any info on how to activate VLOG (my info is that this will be a paid upgrade as with the GH4). At least the German Panasonic online shop doesn't seem to yield any results. I'd love to shoot VLOG with it from the start, and have a major project starting in about 10 days... The vlog activation is same physical card as GH4 and other Pana cameras. Packaging doesn't need to mention "GH5" to work fine. Some of your local shops should have one sitting around? https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1182741-REG/panasonic_dmw_sfu1_vlog_v_log_l_function_activation.html
manueldomes
Ah, got it. Hadn't realized it's the same item as for the GH4. I suppose I won't be able to use the code I bought for the GH4 though
Administrators Andrew Reid Posted April 2, 2017 Administrators Share Posted April 2, 2017 Yeah same as for GH4. Code comes printed on a card inside a box like before the internet even existed jonpais
Charlie
Just to clarify, if I pucrhase this from the Panasonic website (it only mentions the GH4), it needs to be posted out to me??? Yes yes yes, same thing. SAME thing. One Code Rules Them All. But only for one camera. ONE code, MANY cameras, ONE activation ONLY. Check you local stores if they have one. Cinegain
Here's some pointers, search for 'DMW-SFU1': e.g. both Digifoto and Fotokoch seem to be sending stuff abroad. No stock yet though. https://geizhals.eu/panasonic-dmw-sfu1-updateschluessel-a1567852.html . Might wanna shoot a msg in direction of these guys too: https://www.panasonicstore.ie/about-us/ . Or https://eng.faq.panasonic.com/app/ask/p/5 , does say 'UK & Ireland', so they must gotta have some info for you on how to get a hold of one. Gd luck. Cinegain
Yeah, flippin' ridiculous. Welcome to 2017, where we have no better delivery systems for codes than friggin' snailmail. I'm kinda waiting out for a 12-35mm f/2.8 II kit to arrive (?)... and the 400Mbps update, but might as well get a code in, just to make sure atleast that's already here and not running scarce. Pricerunner.co.uk points towards: https://www.foto-koester.de/zubehoer/buecher-und-software/39431/panasonic-dmw-sfu1gu-v-log-l-firmware-upgrade-gh4 . If you are really in desperate need and can't find no joy in finding one, I expected this shortage to hit every now and again and prepared myself by getting one in advance, eventhough I haven't upgraded my GH4 (already with V-Log L on it) to GH5 yet (waiting for reviews on the summer (uh... I thought it was summer already?) updates and perhaps a 12-35mm f/2.8 II kit, although it seems people say the older performs better). As I don't need to use mine quite yet... I could send you mine and order another. But again, the whole idea was to have one at home the moment I dropped the hammer on the GH5, so please first exhaust your other posibilities.
