jonpais
@Emanuel No, the DC DN native micro 4/3 mount. I’m not saying there’s no improvement, just that it isn’t reliable enough for me, unless I were to do several takes anyhow.

Can you do one of those of your tests with native lenses at least? Don't you feel tempted to buy a Viltrox?
jonpais
I don’t care much for adapters tbh. I might try another test with the PL 12 or 42.5.

Emanuel
Here's the setting route (from the description of the video above-posted as source for this simple transcription): Steps to Enable better AF on GH5/GH5s a. Enable camera to use Shutter Angle instead of Shutter Speed Menu - Creative Video - SS/Gain Operation (7th) - Angle/ISO b. Enable Synchro Scan Menu - Creative Video - Synchro Scan (5th) - ON c. Enable Continuous AF Menu - Motion Picture - Continuous AF (5th) - ON d. Set the Shutter angle using the back dial of the camera to

GH5/GH5S AF drama is finally over, I hope :-)

It’s pretty hit or miss. I wouldn’t rely on it for critical work. Maybe works better with Panny lenses. Or shoot several takes and pray. Certainly you’d want to double check focus with an external monitor. I've really appreciated your YouTube reviews of the sigma 16mm Jon. Can you or anyone else post footage from the Panasonic 15mm for comparison? I want so badly to get the benefit of the panny's small size (and perhaps better autofocus). However if the Panasonic is significantly lower quality it's not worth it. Also does anyone know if the in body barrel distortion Panasonic cameras use gets applied to video or is it just stills? Many thanks for the help.
